Hi all,

I'm looking at making an X-Wing pilot suit, and I wanted to do one based on a generic Tierfon Yellow Aces pilot during the Battle of Jakku.

Would the pilot suits for X-Wing pilots in the Battle of Jakku be the same as Ep IV and VI? I can't find any concrete references. Most of the pilots from the Yellow Aces (outside of Porkins) are shown in their Rogue One costumes.[/url]

Sadly the only thing I can find is the lego sandspeeder pilots since that helmet comes in the set. https://www.google.com/search?q=lego+sandspeeder&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj98OqUo93ZAhUGjq0KHUwkCPUQ_AUICygC&biw=1920&bih=974#imgrc=NYnFHpG4K2tLRM:

I would have to say yes, but for some reason they went with Nylon suits for Rogue One.

Time-wise the suits should be identical to the Battle of Yavin suits.

Did we ever get an explanation as to why the suits changed? Because even rogue one is right before the battle of yavin

Different costume designers worked on the film? Your guess is as good as mine.

The Rogue One director didn't really give any solid reason why the suits look so different. All he said was that the suits weren't an exact reproduction but rather "how you remember them". It's not how I remember them but I guess that he wasn't talking about me. Razz

Anyway, I'd say that either version should be okay. Porkins was in the Aces, but so was Zal Dinnes... Porkins has the Original Trilogy suit while Zal Dinnes has the Rogue One suit... So unless you're planning to do a costume of a specific character, either version of the suit should be fine. If you are planning to costume as a specific character, though, you should do the suit that matches what they wear... I.e., Porkins with the OT suit, Dinnes with the RO suit.

But if you really want to play it safe, do the OT X-wing pilot suit.
