Hello,

Slow build cause I am doing a handmaiden dress at the same time...

Trying to find all fabric here in town, cause shipping to Alaska is stupidly expensive sometimes.

Vest/Gauntlet option, attempt one: It's 100% polyester from the upholstery section. Thinking maybe the middle color? One is a close up the other from farther out. If there is a problem, what?, so I know what to look for in comparison.

Thanks! This is the one part of the costume that really worries me.

I'd go with the top one as it's more of a neutral color. The other looks too blue

Thanks! I really like the look of the vests that are more grey, so I'll keep looking for now. They have plenty of fabric, so I am not in a rush. Your feedback really helps in narrowing things down.

An alternate idea, would dyeing the middle fabric with grey dye help?

Synthetic fabric dye with RIT Dyemore. Pretty sure that none of these options work, but I thought I would add it as a lesson/example/??? in dyeing fabric.

The middle fabric in the pictures is the original 100% polyester. It is the middle fabric from my first post. It was suggested that it was too blue. I was hoping that if I added grey dye, it would be better. My first dye attempt was 2 gallons of water with 2 oz of the pearl grey and fabric left in for 30 minutes. The second attempt (the darker one) I added 1 oz of the granite and "cooked" for 30 minutes. Not sure how the colors ended up the way they did...

Opinions advice on how to dye/blend colors better?
