For you guys that use the 1958 pattern web gear double kidney belt, did you cut off the extra tab, that's supposed to attach the pouch to the yoke, or does it just free hang on your kit? Did any of the actors wear the yoke? Can it be seen anywhere? I thought about wearing it under my grenade vest. LFL seems to always mix and match stuff, lol Does anybody make a vacuformed M1 helmet, that would be easier to wear for prolonged troops, but, that will still accommodate the real m1 helmet liner? I have seen the plastic costume helmets, but im afraid the accurate helmet liner wont fit in those. Again, I apologize for all the questions, but im trying to get the all the answers going in so I build this costume right.

Here's how I secured mine. I just ran the long strap through the rings - the ones that are supposed to cradle the straps of the yoke. The left pouch is the mess kit pouch.

Good thread.
I was asking myself the same question last night when looking at the pouches on eBay.

Cheers,
Al.
