You are welcome. Do we have enough reference photos or do we need more? What should we call these troopers?

I think that should be enough to get the standards pushed through once we finalize it (obviously if you find new ones, it never hurts to have more haha).

As for names, I think:

"Operations Trooper" or "Ops Trooper" would fit the best.

Someone (I think Kristina?) suggested "Yavin Operations Officer" for the officer variant, so I think:

"Yavin Operations Trooper" or "Yavin Ops Trooper" would work too.

I agree with Jim and have some concerns. We have a proposal in the officer forums for the characters seen in the briefing room, and what is being proposed here is inconsistent with those. I think that could lead to confusion.

These are the current proposed officer standards:

Proposed: Yavin Operations Officer, Rouge One

Jacket:
-Grey-blue, brown, or olive heavy canvas jacket.
-Sleeves have “blood stripe” detail (printed, suede, embroidered, or similar) from shoulder to cuff. Darker brown, grey-blue, and olive jackets have tan stripes, and lighter brown jackets have darker brown stripes.
-Jacket has a mandarin collar with 6 lines of topstitching on the collar.
-The waistband also has 6 lines of topstitching.
-There are left and right breast pockets, with a flap on the left-hand pocket only. Pocket should have no visible securing snaps or buttons.
-Screen-accurate top stitching and pockets on the front and “action pleat” on the back of the shoulders.
-Screen-accurate compad inset above the left breast pocket.

Optional: Contrasting front yoke.

Pants:
-Khaki or brown colored utility trousers.
-Pant ankles should be worn tucked into boots/boot toppers.

Optional: Cargo-style pockets along the outside of each leg, with top flap, and no visible closure buttons or snaps. Elastic cuffs at the ankles.

Shirt:
-Long sleeved, tan, beige or middle brown shirt with a collar ending in two points.
-Front has a rectangular bib with seams on the bottom and both sides which (recommended) continue down to bottom of hem.
-Double rows of stitching (flat-felled or similar) in each seam is recommended.
-Optional back yoke.
-Worn tucked into the pants.

Belt:
Option 1:
PLCE belt in tan or olive. Belt closure should be roll pin-style or silver buckle with accurate greeblie.

Optional: silver screen-accurate “energy pellets” tucked into the loops on the belt.

Option 2:
Brown belt with octagonal silver buckle consistent with the RFT belts.

Boots:
Option 1:
-Dark brown leather (or leather-like) lace-up combat boots with two matching flaps covering the laces.
-Bottom flap of boot has screen-accurate buckle. The buckle’s bail (wire piece) is attached with a loop of leather sewn into the flap. The ‘box’ parts of the buckle are black and the ‘wire’ parts are silver.
-No visible zippers, but discrete inside zippers are permitted.

(Screen used boots are Frye “Sutton Tall” boots)

Option 2:
-Chelsea-style boot in brown or black leather (can be suede).
-No visible laces.

Rank Badge:
Screen accurate rebel rank badge worn on the right side of jacket, just above breast pocket. Badge should reflect rank of the costumer's choice below General.

Optional:
Era-appropriate Alliance used sidearm and holster such as:
-A180 Pistol
-BlasTech DH-17
-BlasTech DL-44

I am really uncomfortable with the exact same costume having two sets of standards except for the rank badge, where one leaves out all of the detailing. The area that concerns me the most is the jacket. The details are there on the troopers wearing this jacket. Sefla, for example, very clearly has the collar topstiching.

This CS should be exactly like the officer version minus the officer rank badge since it is the same costume minus the officer rank badge. Perhaps we should leave the DL-44 out because I only remember seeing blaster rifles and the Rogue One version of DH-17 blasters with a carrying strap.

Kristina, I naturally assumed we would be applying the same additional details from the officer standards onto the Trooper standards, since they utilize the same jacket and most of the same main pieces. I just hadn't been doing the updates personally since you have been taking the initiative to ensure they stay in the proper formatting.

Wonderful! People don't necessarily look at threads outside of their detachments, so I want to make sure this discussion stays up to date as well.

I also thought we would just use the officer CS and change the information that does not apply for the regular troopers.

We just need to leave the belt version with the RFT buckle out and change the blaster pistols with holsters, only officers seem to have them, to the Rogue one version of the DH-17 with the carrying strap and the A-300 baster rifle.

I would also leave out the "elastic cuffs at the ankles" part, because we do not know if the grunts have them too. I do not remember seeing them on anybody besides Cassian Andor.

Yeah we can simply substitute the pistols in the officer standards for rifles in this one.

As for the ankle elastic cuff option, I say leave it in because it'll be covered anyway, and gives people options for finding pants that are accurate in visible spots.

It is fine with me if the others agree to it. Smile

Requiring costume elements that no one ever sees never made much sense to me.

A couple things on this.

1) As I pointed out in the officer thread, the chelsea boots need to require the leather-like ankle cuffs that match the boot color.

2) Are there references for the elastic on the pants for anyone else but Cassian?

3) If were getting SUPER technical, Sefla would probably be an officer reference. He's a Lieutenant. Smile

I'm still concerned about confusion with a trooper standard and officer standard that is basically the same minus the rank badge. It would also be similar to one of the Scarif Marine variations minus the headgear and vest.
