Hey you lot. ( feel free to "chime" in with suggestions)
I am posting my little WIP here. All so to try this IMGUR thing, before I am going to use it for my costume application. So Here goes
My gear is finally arriving bit by bit.. And coming along with the stuff I had at hand already.
I am going for the "John Doe Generic" marine. None of the Characters really.
Here is what the postman delivered:
The lighting (flourecent??) is "changing" the colours... out side in the sun, it is brown with dark brown patches ( note to self: take app pictures out side)

I have "cut" of the sleeve pocket, no problem:

Now i will try and dye the Vest. This is a bit difficult I fear. All the different dying products has their "followers" and "haters", so here goes. I´ll give the "rit dye" a boil:

Well at least it got " dark and Wet". I´ll have to wait for tomorrow, before I can judge the result.
Cheers.

As the keen observer might have noted, it is the "gorka" jacket with the buttons...

Sorry, brand new at this stuff

My Helmet cover arrived.
I am going with a vacume formed outer shell, as the "steel pot" is quite uncomfortable ( have worn it six years in the army).
The helmet "bits and bobs" are in their way from the US, so more on that later.

Painted the Helmet shell.
Used a dark Forrest green from MONTANA GOLD. Sprayed several thin layers, and rubbed the last layer of with paper towels. It gave it a "scruffed look".
Will ad a light "dash" of matt black, and light weathering when the "Helmet cam" and "death stick box" is ready.
Here is a pick of the helmet so far.

The rest of the build status is as follows:
Gorka 4 jacket (in hand, arm pockets removed, ready to go)
Grenade vest( in hand, and died dark brown. Need black/yellow paint)
Black sniper scarf( in hand)
Cuyote brown Bdu ( in hand)
Black Chelsea boots, and Swiss Army gaiters ( in hand)
Roll pin buckle belt, OD green ( in hand)
Brittish M/58 "kidney pouches" (in hand)
DH 17 RO,( in hand awaiting assembly and paint)

making steady progress.

The west was taped up, prepped, and sprayed with several light layers of black.
Now it is time for the yellow taps.
Again, Tape,cover and prep.
First light coat of yellow done.

Next up is spending time on getting the DH 17 ready. I opted for the DH 17 of logistical reasons. As I troop a lot, totting the big gun around in busses/trains and stuff, is just not a good idea. May get one later, but for now the DH 17 will have to do.

A300s aren't really the best thing to lug around!

I hide mine inside a fishing rod holdall when I travel with it, same for my A280.

The vest was painted, but i think that " the brown" taps are not as pronounced as I would have wanted. They appear almost as dark as the Black Vest.
I have to see if can "touch it up" with some Lighter brown IOT make it stand out more. Other than that, I am am quite pleased with the result

Just about sorted the "basic build" of my DH 17, RO version.

Base coates of paint done.

Assembly done, with a elaborate mix of Superglue, E6000 and ABS paste. Depending on the stress the area and parts will encounter during trooping ( i hope).

next is drying and weathering

Allso,
I got a sweet deal on the SAS Stirling Stengun sash, and the Stengun bandolier.

This means that i will put the Grenade vest on hold for a while and get on with a build more in the line of ESKRO CASRICH. But with the M1 helmet.

A lot of people are doing the PVT Calfur version, and it has kind of put me of it.... ( i will keep painting my taps.. on occasion, just because)

Pics of the bandolier and sash when they land in "sunny" Denmark
