1. Standard Creation

Standard development starts with the detachment, however, anyone can write a proposed standard. If you are interested in writing a standard and know the detachment the standard falls under, make sure to reach out to the detachment CO or XO to make sure there is not a standard already in progress.

Under each costume category on the forums, there is a subforum called Standards Development. This forum has the following subforums:

  • New Standard Proposals — This subforum is where anyone can post a proposal for a new standard. If the detachment leads like a proposal, they will move the proposal to the “New Standards In Progress” forum.

  • New Standards In Progress — In this subforum, the detachment leads or appointed members of the detachment will start discussions to start developing a standard. Everyone will have the ability to participate in these discussions. You do not need to be a Rebel Legion member or Detachment member to participate.

  • Standard Revision Proposals —This subforum is where anyone can post a proposal for a revision to an existing standard. If the detachment leads like a proposal, they will move the revision proposal to the “Standard Revisions In Progress” forum.

  • Standard Revisions In Progress — In this subforum, the detachment leads or appointed members of the detachment will start discussions about revisions to existing standards. Everyone will have the ability to participate in these discussions. You do not need to be a Rebel Legion member or Detachment member to participate.

Standard discussions will remain open at the discretion of the detachment leaders. The detachment leaders will keep the discussions open until they feel enough discussion has taken place to create a quality standard. No voting by members is required.

If you need help writing a standard, check out the following guides:

2. Standard Submission

When the detachment CO and XO feel that a standard is ready to be submitted to the LMO Team, they need to make sure the submission is in the format:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MPvZ3wi9mvcID6Ue1BT4-0sa57Zsmttrcat59tCJqTg/edit?usp=sharing

Once the standard is in the proper format the detachment CO or XO will move the standard to the Costume Standards Review forum:

http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1002

The titles of the posts should follow naming conventions:

  • A standard being updated to the new format: [Rewrite] Jyn Erso
  • A new standard: [New] Han Solo — Solo: A Star Wars Story
  • Standard revision/update: [Revision] Han Solo — A New Hope

3. Standard Review

In the Costume Standards Committee forum the LMO Team, Legion Costume Judges and detachment leads will review the standards and make any additional changes. At any point the detachment leads can place a hold on review of the standard and take it back to the detachment for public discussion of requested changes.

4. Standard Approval
The LMO Team will have final approval of a standard. Once the LMO Team signs off on the standard, they will move the standard to the subforum called Standards Ready For Publishing. The web content team will then update and add the standard to the Completed Costume Standards subforum.

5. Standard Revisions
The standard revision process is very similar to the standard submission process. Anyone can submit a standard revision to the detachment leads. If you have a standard revision proposal, post it in the Standard Revision Proposals forum for the appropriate detachment. The detachment leads will review, and if they want to address the proposal, they will move it to the
Standard Revisions In Progress forum if they believe it requires discussion. If the revision is simple and doesn’t need updating, the detachment leads can move the revision straight to the Costume Standards Review forum.

A standard revision submission only needs to highlight what needs to change in the standard. In the submission include what currently exists in the standard and then highlight in “red” what needs to change.

When posting a revision to the Costume Standards Committee, make sure the title of the post follows this format: [Revision] Han Solo — A New Hope
