Hey everyone. I am looking to update my food caps or repaint them. I haven't found anyone online that will do a custom order. The only ones I have found are full packs of multiple colors. I need 8 sliver and 4 gold for TPM Obi Wan. I have most of the caps made but the paint keeps coming off. What paint has other people used in the past?

i got my colors mixed up. the CRL says 8 gold and 4 silver. I never saw that close up with the copper ones. I know that have been times in the film that he had 3 pouches and times that he had 2 pouches. I am gonna chalk that up to filming stuff.

I count 8 gold , 2 silver , 2 copper

we shouldn't follow the standard, when we know it to be wrong.
the judges understand that the standards have flaws, which need to be corrected over time.

when faced with 'the standards' vs. 'an actual reference photo from the movie which proves the standards to be wrong'..
..then the judges will lean towards the reference photo. Razz

when in doubt: "make it like the photo" Razz
judges love reference photos LOL. it makes their job easier.

I buy the ones from ebay
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jedi-Food-Energy-Capsules-Pellets-set-of-8-star-wars-accessories-props/141754721318?epid=1847108076&hash=item21013d6426:g:gTsAAOSwgQ9ViRCZ
these are 100% screen accurate. I can't make them cheaper than this

you can also get them from civilized galactic gear. they're more expensive but he paints them by hand.
he can do a custom order (all gold and silver) if you want
http://shop.civilizedgalacticgear.com/Jedi-Food-Capsules-2S2GM2G2C.htm

to prevent your own paint from flaking off , try a coat of primer first.

I have no idea what he uses.. I would use automotive touch-up paint in the aerosol spray-cans.

something like this

paint
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/automotive/car-care/car-paint/touch-up-paint.html

primer
http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/dupli-color-perfect-match-scratch-filler-grey-primer-0472673p.html

^^ I used this stuff to paint a Rubie's han solo blaster from 'orange&blue' to 'gunmetal grey'

so far it hasn't rubbed off due to friction with the holster. it's held up really well.

(and I didn't even use the primer, I just used the auto touch-up paint straight onto the plastic toy gun).

I know this is an old thread, but I'm working on an Obi Ep I for my nephew. Can anyone point me in the direction of pants, boots, belt makers? I'm working on the hood, and have a seamstress for the upper pieces.

Thanks
