Greetings,

In the past, I've made 2 Chewie costumes on stilts. Due to knee injuries, I can't do stilts anymore and looking at possible platform shoes (see KISS boots).

I've seen a quick video on FB a while back of somebody that had done it (7" shoe) and it looked really good (no bump) in the leg where the shoe ended.

I'm still looking at options right now on the best way to do this, but I'm not sure having a straight leg all the way down the platform shoe would be the best option. How do you fill in the leg gap at that point?

What have some of you done to make this work?

Thanks,

The 7" kiss boots that many of us wear have a heel. This reduces the overall length of the foot and makes the front (toe area) not nearly so tall. Or saying toes on it and you're golden.

These are the boots that I use: Demonia Stack 301.

Thanks for the info. What do you at the front of your shins to avoid cave-in?

Any build pics by any chance?

Anybody have pictures of their build / front of shins to avoid cave-ins?

Hey Luc! On the one pair I built for a friend, I added foam to the shins. Pool noodles work surprisingly well haha Sorry I don't have a photo for you :/

Interesting idea. How did you attach them? To the leg itself before donning the fur or attached to the shoes themselves?

To the shin of the boots. The most common ones are almost knee-high. I used adhesive and then wrapped the foam with black duct tape.

Missed the cave-in question.

I don't do anything. Essentially, I have sculpted my toes in such a way so that they match the angle of the heel.
