Reposting as requested, if you have any questions, please let myself or one of the staff know.
Members of the Rebel Legion,
Nominations and elections for the 2018-2019 cycle will begin for the elections of the Legion Commanding Officer, Legion Administrative Council, Legion level Detachment Commanders, Base/Outpost Commanding Officers and Base Level Detachment Commanders.
The timeline for election procedures are based on the time zone the responsible moderator lives in.....as all members of the COG team, Legion Command, and LAC that will be handling this processes are not in one time zone....please be patient if there is a few hour difference in postings due to time zones.
- Nominations will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, 10 September 2018 and run for 7 days for all the positions mentioned concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 16 September 2018.
- After nominations conclude, Q&A will commence for all positions that have more than one candidate starting at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, 17 September 2018 and running for 7 days concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 23 September 2018, with 2 additional days allowed after closing for candidates to complete their answers concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 25 September 2018.
- After Q&A concludes, voting for all positions will commence at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, 26 September 2018 and run for 7 days concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 2 October 2018.
The potential new administration (pending validation) will take over per the charter the Monday following the closing of the elections which is Monday, 8 October 2018. The COG and his assistants will validate the results of all elections as soon as possible following voting and post the official results in all voting threads.
There will be separate threads for nominations, Q&A (asking questions), Q&A (answers for each candidate) and voting that will be set up by the COG, ACOG, LAC or RL DCO members administering that particular election.
Although the COG has overall responsibility in overseeing all the elections, it cannot all be done by one person. I have broken down the responsibilities for this cycle as follows to those who will be assisting me in creating the required threads and monitoring on my behalf.
- COG - will administer oversee LCO and LAC elections
- ACOG - will administer and oversee the RL Level Detachment CO elections
- ACOG/LAC - will each take a grouping to administer and oversee the Base/Outpost CO elections
- Current RL Level Detachment Commanders - will administer and oversee Base/Outpost level Detachment CO elections applicable to their detachments.
For further information you can read the Legion election procedures in the charter, Article V: Elections and Voting located here:
http://newsite.rebellegion.com/legion-charter/#6
Please feel free to contact me or any member of the ACOG team directly if you have any questions, need clarification of further information of the upcoming elections.
PLEASE NOTE: Per the charter there is no campaigning of any kind allowed for candidates during elections on any RL forums, hosted pages or sites, private pages or sites, social media, email or any other form of communication. Candidates or legion members found and proved to be campaigning for themselves or their desired candidate will automatically render that candidate ineligible to run and will be removed from election consideration for the cycle.
Please lets have a civil and respectful election this year....especially during the Q&A process where necessary. The election administration team reserves the right to edit or remove any posts that do not comply with the Rebel Legion charter Code of Conduct and rules for forum use
ALL ELECTIONS will be conducted exclusively on these forums and nowhere else.
I encourage Base/Outpost commanders to repost this in their base forums or link back to this posting for their members to read and become familiar....especially if they are new to the Rebel Legion and our election process.
Yours in Service,
Bouri-Plwel (Rick Bouwhuis)
