I have seen that they can be approved with modifications. I haven't really seen HOW they need to be modified. It would be nice to have a tutorial to show people. Even maybe how to modify them to a Endor A280's or Hoth A295/A280C. Id be willing to document it, if I can get an idea on how. |

I know the stock, scope, and barrel are modified, but I can't remember the details.
Maybe something like this? Not sure if this exact setup is approvable, but it looks better than the off-the-shelf Nerf rifle.

I'm currently on this journey.
The only mods I've had to do so far for mine is to remove the rear orange "cube" that houses the trigger spring. I had to do this in order to attach the stock, as in twhigham's photo above.
You may want to open it up to attach any sort of swivel bolts for your sling (if you have one), because you risk drilling into electronic bits if you go in blind. Also, securing said bolts (either with some sort of nut, glue or other hack) is easier if you have access to the inside.
That's about it as far as I know. It might be more correct to remove the nerf magazine and fill the gap with milliput, worbla, bondo or some other filler, but I've left mine in and painted (also as above).
I haven't submitted yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. |

I take it the Stock Nerf is the Jyn Erso version??
Has anyone had any more success on this being approved. |

Pretty sure I've seen a number of people approved with modified Nerf blasters for this, using the Erso or Cassian Nerf blaster as a base. The more mods the better, but my impression (as someone who is not a judge) is as long as the writing and logos aren't visible, and the paint job and weathering are remotely decent, they should pass. _________________

Surveying the recent approvals, most are the Sgt. Jyn Erso carbine version where just a screen-accurate scope has been added--most 3d printed, some homemade. The NERF magazine is present, and the rear square stock plug remains.

Some have done the rifle version, where a stock has been attached to the plug, and a PVC pipe is the extended barrel. Most stocks are 3d printed and accurate though one standard NERF ones has been accepted.

Not many have converted a NERF to the sniper version with accurate stock and barrel shroud.

While more common in the past, there was a recent example of the Cassian Andor NERF being used unaltered, even though the stock, scope, and barrel are not fully accurate in the details.
