My webbing for my PLCE belt came in and I bought a bunch of air line fittings so I can start work on that _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

For your line fittings, did you get two different sizes that you'll cut and fit together, or did you buy a fitting with different sized ends? |

Sam i bought two different sizes that were double ended so ill cut those in half and join then with epoxy and a BBQ skewer. Since the webbing came in last night i may spend some quality time with my.machine tonight making up the PLCE belt. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

It is good to see that more people are interested in this costume. I was kind of feeling lonely as one of a kind. :-) It looks like you got a very good start, David. _________________ RAID GRRRL-Squad-Leader 2019 - present

I know ALLLLL About being the only. Funny thing is, once you start wearing the hell oiut of it, people will start showing interest. At first I was the only local TI, now I have 27 Pilots in my Garrison Flight. Now there is interest in Hoth here, even though its blistering hot in deep south Louisiana still.
this is inexpensive and on the "easy" starter side of the spectum. My boots are here, my pants are about 250 miles away on a truck somewhere, and my belt in next to the sewing machine, ready for me to make it. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

If your base mates start making their hoth troopers now they will be finished by winter.
Well, I hope there will be many more Signal Intelligence Technicians in the near future. I wore it for the first time at an event yesterday. It was very comfortable and will be an excellent costume for events during the hot summer months next year.
I'm going to use the Signal Intelligence Technician as a base for my Scarif Marine and use that for the cold weather events. I still have to make the jacket, vest, and cap. My husband has an unapproved hoth hanger trooper that he uses at those types of events. _________________ RAID GRRRL-Squad-Leader 2019 - present

I wear my hangar trooper on hot days just to prove a point. Im actually more comfortable in it, than say my Colonial Marine.
Pants came in last night. I got pretty busy last night but I hope to get the pants modified with new belt soops tonight to fit the PLCE belt. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

I did not make new belt loops for my pants. The original loops are long enough to be re-used. I just took them off and ironed them. Then put them back on and made sure that straight part was long enough so that the PLCE belt fit trough. _________________ RAID GRRRL-Squad-Leader 2019 - present

This weekend The Maker picked up my tan shirt material and got all my measurements. I also got a new foot for my machine to sew the loops on my PLCE after my first attempt failed spectacularly. My Chelseas FIT!!!

RIGHT ! SO!
here we are one year later. My live has altered significantly since the last post, and many priorities changed. now that I have a job again I can get back to work. I still do not have the shirt in hand but I have spoken with my shirt maker to determine where she is in the construction. Im having it made from scratch to the cuffs are correct.
Im working on the pants today, and Ill lay out a template for the anklet later. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

Good to see you back David!
I am almost done with this costume (I have said that for 7 months now) too. The only thing I need is the anklet and the person who was going to make one for me by Celebration has completely backed out. I will be keenly interested to see what you come up with. _________________ Todd (Toda) - former RAID XO (2017-2019)

hey Todd
well, im stuck. Ill make my ankle bracelet and I am going to scrap the belt I made and start over. My MAIN issue is the tan shirt. Pants are done, shoes fit fine. I had a tan dickies shirt that I made with the typical RFT cut, but using a dickies shirt means it has a regular sleeve with regular cuff. The original shirts did not have a cuff. I know how judges are---I WAS a RAID judge, so my concern is finishing the uniform, but not getting approved due to the cuff on the shirt. The standard says no cuff, so cutting off the cuff is going to have the shirt sleeve end WELL above my wrist.
I had a shirt being made, but, well, that's gone. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr
