I am still working on this project. I have been having difficulties with adjusting jacket patterns to my size but I am not giving up of this costume or the trooper version yet. I just need to find a good base pattern in my size and then improve my pattern adjusting skills until I can finish making the jacket. Perhaps I will try to learn how to make my own patterns. I do not know yet. It might take years and I might work on other projects for a while because I am frustrated with this one but I will not give up.

I found an affordable khaki-colored heavy work jacket with an action pleat. I hope to be able to convert it into a Yavin Operations Officer Jacket. I am planning on using a tan fabric for the optional contrasting front yoke to cover the top buttonhole. I will use 10mm wide brown grosgrain ribbon for blood stripes since the CS says that "lighter brown jackets have darker brown stripes".

I think we made a mistake when wrote the CS. We should not only permit heavy canvas jackets. Instead, we should permit heavy canvas jackets and heavy twill jackets. As far as I know, Magnoli Clothiers is the only source for a Cassian Andor jacket that is made out of canvas fabric. All the other sources seem to use twill. It can also be very difficult to find a heavy canvas fabric that is suitable for sewing a jacket. On the other hand, it is less difficult to find a heavy twill fabric for work clothes to make a jacket.

Anya and I have also had this conversation, and we both agree with you. I absolutely agree that twill should be listed as an acceptable fabric.

The jacket you have above looks like it will work really well for modifications! I'm so excited to see you found such a great base to work with.

I am very happy that I found this jacket. I actually have two. One is an EU size 26 that I bought for 3.61 Euros on Amazon. Unfortunately, it was about three sizes too small. Then I found the same jacket in the EU size 29 for 22.70 Euros on eBay. I am planning on taking the smaller jacket apart to get the extra fabric that I will need for some of the changes.
