Here take a look here. I have the top layer and then I lifted it to show the bottom layer. These are just basic skirt layouts to see where it cut. This is also a mirror image so keep that in mind

1. (Front top layer)

Okay, update links. The bottom layer skirt. Does it look good or am I missing something? And yes it is just above the knee.

1. Front https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/26734070_10215015052028122_3240652096354894613_n.jpg?oh=30369c6d3476e05e274ab96945754127&oe=5AF527DC

Okay, let me see.
It looks like you have a long part on both sides, instead of only one in front of the right leg on the inner layer. I also see more than one split.
I'd say your skirt is too long in the back as it goes down past your mid shin. Try to aim it at just below your knees instead.
Where the split is in the front of the right leg, you should have a short side overlapping the long side (that ends in a low point at mid shin). That way the skirt will open up and reveal the split when you move or sit, but it will never open up completely, because it overlaps in the top. 4-5 cm should be fine. Smile
Also try to gently curve the skirt up from the front of the left leg to the left side, flatten out at knee level and continue around in a gentle slope that become sharper on the right to end in that point. It shouldn't go short again.

For the outer layer there's a lot of gentle curves going first one way, then the other, then back again, so you end up with a very, very gently S shape. (I stress the very here). Lower point front and back are at mid shin, high point on the side just above the knee allowing the inner skirt to peak out.

I know it's hard to explain in words, so try to look at the references while reading it and see if that helps it make more sense. Smile
You can look at the references here if that helps: http://www.senate.rebellegion.com/?portfolio=princess-leia-organa-ewok-village-dress

While I still have extra fabric and before I do the top skirt, tell me please, how am I looking. Is the back too short?

No, the back looks pretty good to me. Smile It looks like you are just under the knees, which should be fine. The skirts are tricky with their length changing parts.

Sorry about that. I used Photobucket for the hosting and simply haven't found time to rehost and fix all the links since their policy changes. Neutral It's still on my list. (Doesn't help I've recently had problems with my eyes when sitting too much in from of a screen).

But I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have to help out.

Did you fold over the edges at the neckline? What did you use to hold it down?

Thanks! This is a GORGEOUS build thread!!!

Thanks for the kind words. Smile

And yes, they are folded in and simply glued in place. Smile It works very well on the pig skin. (I can't remember if I used textile or leather glue, but one of them).
That way I wouldn't have any visible seams there.
