Thanks for the feedback! 🙂 Do you see that extra space on the necklace as non-approvable; should I upgrade that too?

Also, what are the thoughts on Jet Set fabric for this costume? I know it’s typically used for Leia’s Senate gown, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an opinion one way or another on it for this costume. If it’s not acceptable, I’ll probably go with the sanded satin, but I’m in Joann looking at fabric now for my mock-up and am liking the look/feel of the Jet Set.

If possible, I'd shorten the gap, so it's less obvious, but as long as everything else is fine, it shouldn't hold you up.

As for the fabric, well, I've done the inner dress with stretchable fabric and I cannot recommend it. The skirt is heavy and will stretch out of shape unless I store it a certain way. If you only got stretch in the horizontal direction I think it would be okay, but not if it's also in the vertical direction.
In general, I think it would be better to stay with a weave rather than a knit, but it's up to you. The inner dress is covered with another layer, so the fabric isn't viewed directly.

Gotcha! The Jet Set seems to be only two-way stretch, so I’m hoping it works. But we’re still only in the mock-up phase, so if it doesn’t work, no big deal about trying another fabric. 🙂 We picked up the last bit of Jet Set they had on hand as well as some chiffon, so we should have the beginnings of the mock-up soon!

For the bracelet I’m looking at getting this one, and priming/painting it.

Thanks again! 😊

Good luck with it. Smile

And with work that bracelet should work out fine.

Hi all... my seamstress and I have a question about the semi-sheer overlay for this gown. For those of you familiar with the Casa polyester chiffon at Joann, is that considered acceptable for RL approval? Looking at some of the other Leias who’ve been approved, my concern is whether it may be too sheer. If so is it possible to just double up on the fabric, or should I order something thicker? Though since I can’t find a thickness measurement for the Casa chiffon, finding something thicker might be tricky.

(Pics here and here.)

Thanks!

No feedback? Neutral I can try to get a better picture of the fabric if need be.

Thanks,
Aeryn

It looks like the drape would be nice and the sheerness shouldn't be a problem, especially with a solid under-dress. Leia's sleeves are fairly sheer in the original.

The belt I ordered arrived today! I’m concerned it may be a tad loose (my error), but then, it’s hard to tell without the actual dress. Plus I probably won’t be wearing tummy control leggings under the dress. 😂

Pics here, here, and here.

Feedback?

It does hang a bit too low, but if you can't naturally raise it up, then there's padding or simply finding a way to take it in a bit instead.

And I'll admit it's hard to tell about the sheerness of the fabric from the pictures. Generally it's a little sheer, but not overly sheer. Some chiffons work beautifully, while others are too sheer. So, it's a matter of a bit of luck finding the right weight.
