Oh yes, I identified the camera-radio used for this prop:


It is a National Panasonic C-R2 from 1979. They clearly modified it, cut it and glued it again, or modified a resin cast. I know I will not be cutting in half this baby.









Just received it yesterday in Argentina. Have to install some batteries and make it work. Cool prop right?

Thanks, I spent a few days looking for vintage Walkie Talkie, cause I really believed It was that kind of device, given the shape of the speaker grid. Eventually found a great radio virtual museum website, and later, found out about this radio camera. Amazing novelty product for that year BTW.

Excellent detective work! I might add this to the 'artifact ID' series on my blog, would you mind if I cite your identification of the component in a future post?
Artifact ID – Living History in the Star Wars Galaxy

I might be interested in having a casting for a prop display as well.
