Expectation vs. Reality. https://imgur.com/a/keRQW7a

Ordered over $120 of product from Fralans3DCreations on Etsy, and here’s what I got. I know nothing about painting props, so probably have to go with these as is at least until I get my Generic Jedi approved and can troop/network with the local garrison for some help.

Are these approvable for Obi-Wan ROTS, or failing that, for Generic Jedi?

I would say looking at those that they will most likely need some work in order to become approvable. For reference, here is what the originals looked like:

Color and weathering definitely need some attention. I would also have some concerns about construction quality given how the opening on the one on the right is cockeyed, but that might be just how it photographed.

Oh, that is a lovely photo. Can that be added to the OWK photo reference library? http://www.kjo.rebellegion.com/?portfolio=obi-wan-kenobi-episode-iii-2

I’m setting as high standards for myself as I can for the Face Character, but if anyone gave me the green light to at least use these for Generic Jedi, then I could put improving these on the backlog. The paint job sucks and good eye: the Grapple pouch lid was badly assembled; I’m going to have to remove it and reattach it correctly no matter what.

This may put a damper on my plans for trying to be done with GJ before JPL >_<

I will definitely look into adding that to the reference library! As for using them for a generic jedi...well, the standard says "The paint scheme on resin cast boxes should blend well with the overall costume." I am not sure whether that can be said of these boxes as-is.

Good thing I have a robe, inner tunic, and food pellets.

All these years and I thought the Obi-Wan ROTS Leather Pouch had one score line along the edges but in reality it has two!

It always amazes me how much detail is washed out by stage lights.

Oh, good catch. I’m making that one myself, so will need to make sure I do it right.

So I have Ep 1 Obi-Wan pouches 3D printed by Fralans that are approved. My painting looks like that top image you posted though, not the bottom. So You should just need to repaint.

Well, step 1 has been to reach out to Fralans3DCreations and showing them the picture linked above and asking them how they plan to make it right.

Fralans3DCreations has offered to repaint and correct the assembly if I send them back.

So here’s my belt so far with the pouches also from the same seller, I painted and weathered them a bit and I think they came out ok!

Oh, I'm dumb. Got confused and thought that other person's pouches were yours!
