Tython Troop Report

Event: Stomp Cosplay Charity Ball

Location: Albert Hall, Canberra ACT.

Date/ Time: 6pm to 9pm

Weather: Cool and overcast.

Legionaries: Archivist 32 – Tython Base & Pvicta - SCG501st

Wranglers: N/A

Mission Report: This was my first Stomp Cosplay Charity Ball so I didn’t know what to expect. I was glad to have the wonderful company of Pvicta as an Endor Scout. After a short discussion with the organisers, we decided the meet and greet door duties was the best option to add character colour.
This decision turned out to be the best way for us to contribute. Before event selfies with us proved to be a popular activity and few people in Star Wars Character costumes took the opportunity to strike a pose. About 7pm, act one of the floor show got underway, and a number of dance schools displayed their latin dance skills. For act two, there was a play about a father encouraging his little girl to make up her own bedtime story. She story used lots of cosplay characters to create her own original bedtime story. There was even Darth Vader and his posse of Storm Troopers! However, Darth Vader didn’t rule the universe in this little girls story, as a bevy of Lara Crofts defeated Darth and his minions! Overall, the everyone had a ball and we enjoyed help them raise money for Rainforest 4 Foundation, Pets in the Park and Karinya House. I hope we can do it all again next year!

Venue notes: The small venue space would not suit a large crowd of troopers. I would think the ideal number of troopers is 2-3 troopers. Change room, storage and trooping space is limited.

Mission Status: Successful

Thanks Sharon.

I think we had around 10 troopers the first year we attended and yes it was a super tight fit in the change space then. We had to share it with all the dance performers. Everyone was very organised and professional though so we made it work.

Glad you had a fun night.

Cheers, Sair
