I've decided to work on Maz Kanata.

I've asked in one of the costume forums above but so far, no answers as to in which forum this character might be discussed. I can also find no RL costume standards for her.

So, for now, I'm working with off the rack items, rather than making everything from scratch. I found an Etsy shop where they will 3-D print the goggles and belt buckle. I will be making the vest but will be an edit of a off-the-rack quilted vest I found at Fred Meyer on deep discount!

Not yet committed to doing the prosthetics and facial makeup. This might end up being a good Con costume as opposed to being admitted to RL.

Maz! Love it.

We do have several members in GT with 3d printers, if you need it locally.

Constructing a new Jedi, I have everything, inner tunic and outer tunic, tabbards, and sash(obi) and brown boots and pouches

I have ordered a new belt, and food capsules.

I really do want a robe but cannot find decent fabric to make it I have a somewhat decent pattern from the fabric store but it’s. It quite what I need.

I am now looking into commissioning one soon

Also

I am going to commission a costume for GT too. I’m very exited for this one

New to the Rebel Legion, and just discovered Alpha Base! I'm in the process of commissioning a Jedi, with a hand-made one further in the future. I hope to have everything ready and approved before ECCC! I'm very excited for my color scheme, and, more importantly, to hopefully be approved to join you all in the work you do.

Hello there,

I'm brand new to the Rebel Legion and Alpha Base. I'm in the Marysville area and would talk to an X-wing pilot at the Grove Church Carnival the past couple of years and finally decided to jump in and start making my first costume. My wife usually makes my costumes for me, but I've decided that I should make my first RL costume "by myself". With the help of my wife and this forum, I've already learned how to start making patterns and the basics of running a sewing machine. It's addicting and I'm excited to keep learning more.

I'm also in the "research" phase of building my first lightsaber. I have a collection of Hasbro Force FX collectables and quite a few Disney Build-Your-Own lightsabers from Star Traders and two sabers from Savi's. Now that I've seen the new Proffie and Crystal Focus X boards, I'm looking at creating a more advanced saber.

Currently, I am working on a generic Jedi impression for the primary purpose of using it in my K-5 elementary music classroom. I teach the recorder to 3rd - 5th grade students using the "Recorder Karate" curriculum, and thought it would be fun to add a Jedi spin to the program. My white/yellow belts would be Recorder Younglings, orange/green would be Recorder Padawans, blue/purple belts would be Recorder Knights red/brown would be Recorder Masters, and the black belts would be Recorder Council Members. I would love to be able to award the belts to my students in costume.

I have a Generic Jedi Build WIP Log: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=107208
I would love to hear any of your thoughts and suggestions as I work my way through this costume.

Starting my process of sourcing pieces for my generic Jedi costume, and I'm having trouble finding an answer to this question: Does the color of the inner tunic need to match anything in particular? I know there are general color restrictions, and I know the belt and boots need to match, but I can't find anything about the inner tunic specifically. I want to be sure I don't make/buy an IT that won't be approved.

Hi all

Just to let you know, this thread isn't really monitored anymore. Best way to get answers on a costume is to post in the section for that costume type on the main area of the forums, and best way to reach the base quickly is via the public facebook page.
