Out of everything I saw in the latest film, the only costume to catch my eye was the backside of a Rebel pilot deboarding their ship in the final celebration scene.

Thanks to the visual dictionary, it seems they are Y/A Wing pilots of the Resistance!

Here's a full album of what I pulled from the dictionary: https://imgur.com/a/m6qwExq

Is anyone aware of some group/rumblings of this costume getting traction? I'd like to get involved

LOL I looked at that page for about 10 secs before I realized what it was:)

I have about 5 more pictures from screen caps of a behind the scenes look for the Y wing. I can send them to you for your album.

Don't forget the picture of the single helmet though.

It's definitely a neat outfit. And I kind of dig how it's sort of a cross between a ROTJ Y-wing pilot and B-wing pilot.

Good to see someone else dug that costume as well! Laughing

It'd be nice to see more of this costume if anyone else has images to share.

I finally saw the movie and there are 2-3 cockpit shots for the Y wing pilots, and a dismount sequence at the end where the pilot takes his helmet off and you can see it quite clearly, so as soon as I can get the movie I will screen cap those.

I have a thread I erroneously created in the Officers forum about Aftab Ackbar, very early on when the standee first came out and he was listed as a Resistance General. The Visual Dictionary lists him as a Colonel and wearing a Y-Wing flightsuit.

http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=108638

Here are the proposed standards I wrote based on that image:

Flight suit: Ivory colored flight suit with standing collar, worn open. Pleated stripes down the outside of the sleeves. Cargo loop on left upper arm. Storm flap fly from crotch to neck, opening on the right side. An extra layer of material on the legs gives the appearance of chaps and begins at the hip and curves around the crotch and inner thigh. Chaps extend to the foot and blouse over boots. Chaps have square pockets on the front of the thighs above the knees. The right thigh pocket has a storm flap and the left has none. The shins below the knee each have a box cargo pocket with storm flap cover.

Scarf: Brown scarf worn around the neck and tucked under the flight suit collar.

Flak vest: Flak vest in same color as flight suit extends over shoulders almost to natural waist. Vest curves from base of neck towards center of chest but does not meet in the middle and has a gap. There is a small padded collar. Wide horizontal padded ribs span from collar bone to armpit. 2 inch wide webbing is sewn vertically onto the vest near the armpit and from the bottom of the ribs to the bottom of the vest. The webbing each have rectangular hardware on the bottom, and hardware clips near the bottom which face the center and connect to triangular rings, which are both connected to a strip of fabric that lies in the center of the chest on the bottom edge of the vest and serves as a closure.

The flak vest also has a 2 inch piece of webbing attached vertically on the right side of the padded ribs in alignment with the harness which has a metallic device mounted over huge collarbone. A rectangular transponder is mounted next to the device towards the center of the vest on the padded ribs.

Chest box: An accurately detailed off-white square box is mounted on the center of the chest. There is no apparent strapping or mounting apparatus. A red wire connects to the transponder.

Ejection straps: Ejection straps are integrated as part of the flak vest and are extensions of the vertical webbing. They extend down the front of the thighs to the knees and are sewn at right angles to loops that wrap closely around the knees.

Belt: Khaki or light brown PLCE belt with the loops facing outward and fastened with a roll pin buckle. There is no additional webbing loops sewn to the belt.

Boots: Black mid-calf leather-appearance jackboots or engineer boots with no visible straps or buckles. Low 1" heel.
