I have been a member of the 501st Legion Northeast Remnant Garrison for 4 years, I decided to get my wife into costume and opted for a Jawa. This Saturday I took on the task of cutting and sewing the robe and hood, which took me all day because I sewed by hand.

Dyed JAWA robe getting Tropical Storm rinse! https://imgur.com/gallery/JYSCCCj
Some more work on the Wife's Jawa. Soaked in dye bath of 2 Dark Brown and 1 Sunrise Orange for 24+ hours. Now it's getting a rinse job from Isaias! |

My apologies. My computer wasn't getting along with the forums and couldn't log on.
Those look great. You may just want to trim a bit off of the bottom so she doesn't trip when walking. _________________ Kellie Hendley

Yeah. That was her complaint when trying on, easier to remove then to add. How about the color, does it look okay or does it need another dye bath? |

I love it, and the way the blotching adds weathering is very cool. _________________ Kellie Hendley

Question regarding Jawa hood; does the bottom edge, that rests on the robe, need to be hemmed or can it be frayed like the sleeves and robe bottom? |

You want to put some kind of stitch so it doesn't fray badly, but I just fold mine under when I wear it. _________________ Kellie Hendley

Round 2 of Dying. This time I left it to soak for 4 days. Then laid it flat on the ground and hosed it off, after I left it on the ground to dry. Now it's hanging in the sun to fade. |

HI ya Brian,
All the jawas across all the movies and TV show the confirming the hoods are hemmed. Which means to fold over the fabric and sew not just sew a stitch to stop the fraying, which is great to do for the sleeves and bottom of robe, just as Kellie suggested.
They also have no blotches or different shades ... the only weathering is a light sandy colour or a very light brown on bottom of robe. photos from two different movies.
You're doing a great job, keep going. _________________
