In the West End Games Sourcebooks, namely the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, this uniform was depicted as Ground Duty Uniform of Alliance Pilots.

Looks like the "Luke Dagobah/Bespin"fatigues and makes sense since the Alliance would need a set of fatigues/duty outfit.

Are there any color pictures of it? And any shots of the other sides? I don't think the outfit can be approved unless it has color pictures and views of all sides.

This is the only illustration I know of, but truth be told, there are plenty references to the fatigues Luke wears on Dagobah and Bespin.

What I can't fail to notice again is that we are awesome at pointing out what doesn't work instead of finding solutions how to make things work.

If Luke Skywalker was in the military in our world his Bespin outfit would be the regular uniform that all pilot wear when they are not in the cockpit. Unfortunately, George Lucas and Lucas Film have a tendency to give their hero characters costumes that are unique to them in the movies so we cannot use hero costumes as a reference for generic costumes. Fortunately, we do have references for off-duty uniforms and dress uniforms for pilots from other sources. I know that people have been approved with dress uniforms from the comics.

Star Wars Squadrons gives us a new off-duty uniform that cannot only be worn by the player in multiplayer briefings but is also worn by NPCs in the single-player story. You can come up with 6 different combinations for this uniform right from the start of the game. It is made up of the pilot boots, a tan PLCE belt with flares, brown cargo pants, and a khaki/light brown tech shirt. With exception of the boots and gloves, it is similar to the outfit that Privat Weems wears in Rogue One in many ways. For gloves, you can either wear the black Rogue One style pilot gloves or short black technician gloves. The pilot can either not wear a helmet or one of 2 helmets at the start. One helmet is called Striker and one is called Old Alliance. The Old Alliance helmet is the basic white helmet with blue rebel symbols and the sliced onion on the side.

The helmet that is called "Alte Allianz" (Old Alliance) is the helmet that Cadet Harb Binli (Red Seven) wears in Rogue One. It can also be seen on page 168 and 173 of the book Star Wars Rogue One - The Ultimate Visual Guide.

Pam, thanks for the reference pics.
This looks like an awesome utility uniform with the right amount of Alliance touch to it.

You are welcome. I just wished the game would have let me get closer to the NPCs because I would have preferred to have some close-ups. The animations style and the lighting also made the screencaps look blurry even in the highest resolution.

Technically, the pics should be sufficient as reference to base a costume on.

The boots look a bit like motorcycle boots, but if you blouse the pants over them, jackboots might work, too.

I agree with all your points. The boots reminded me of some of the older racing motorcycle boots that are made of leather. The blousing of the pants over the jackboots should work as long as the legs of the cargo are wide enough. It should not be a problem with most store-bought BDU pants. Some other types of cargo pants might be too tight.

Full agreement that this looks like a Weems style uniform, with some options, albiet strange options.

Which technician style gloves would be appropriate for this?

With my Weems (Sqweems) approved recently, and plenty of boot options on hand, I do believe I could pull this off, if there are sufficient references to let the LMO let the Det go forward with this.

That guy is in the same position as the Imperial officer with the pilots in front of him. Maybe flight boss or something along those lines? Definitely a flight-related officer of some kind.

The one in front of the pilots is probably the flight/Squad leader, similar to the Mimbanese female pilot Kierah Koovah aka Gunny, who is the leader of Vanguard squadron. She flies a U-Wing and resupplies you during missions.

I enlarged the tech gloves. The closes that I can find are EN388 PU work gloves, neoprene gloves, or cotton work gloves.

EN388 PU work gloves:
The white writing would have to be painted black in some way.

Neoprene gloves
I think many other neoprene gloves could work as long as the Velcro strap closes on the inside of the wrist and not on the outside.

Cotton work gloves

I'd go for shortened black Nomex Aviator gloves.
This would give the outfit a touch of piloting.

I found some short Nomex gloves on Amazon.de that would be perfect but the shipping is almost as expensive as the gloves themselves.
