I'm wondering if anyone has an up to date pattern for making a flight suit. The one currently posted is pretty good, but with the picture links being broken, it's hard to visualise.

I have found patterns for the majority of the pockets, but still missing a few sections.

I've circled the sections in blue that I can find. The ones in yellow are what I'm missing. They are: the hip pockets, the centre section (a kind of triangle shape on the standards diagram), the waist band, the collar and I forgot to highlight the cuffs.

Am I being stupid and the hip pockets and chest pockets are the same?

Hello. Smile My wip thread may have some helpful research for you. (It hasn't been updated for a long time because me and my friend haven't worked on it for some time).

Cuffs and chest seam starts on page two, which I've linked to. Page one is mostly us experimenting with general shape.

The triangle shape on the chest isn't a pocket, just another seam, while you've got the pockets next to that.
The openings of the hip pockets and chest pockets are both cut in a rounded way, but the dimensions and shapes are different. The hip pockets are pretty much squares with a corner cut off, whereas the chest pockets are taller then they are wide and have an angled side along the diagonal chest seam.

That does look like it’ll be a big help, thank you. Flight suits (boiler suits) arrived today, so progress could be made by the weekend.

Good luck with it. Smile We actually researched some other suits, too, when we needed to figure those pockets out. The grey suit is identical in shape and form to the pilots, but don't have a flak vest in the way. Razz Hurrah, for the technicians!
