I'm also mid-build.

I would argue that this character should be approvable with and without helmet. There's a lot of screen time both ways.

One question is, if blasters are sometimes optional due to varied local laws and convention rules, will it be approvable with an empty holster?

Having an optional blaster also adds to the simplicity of any costume, as some characters use non-common weapons and not everyone wants to spend the time and money to custom-make a weapon. I am designing a costume for Talon Karrde (Fringe smuggler) and I can't match his blasters to any known designs, so I will propose them as optional. However, I will still recommend the holster be part of the core costume.

I'm collecting parts for my build as well.
Helmet should be optional since as mentioned, he leaves it off more than not.
I would say the holster (with or without blaster in it) is integral to the costume.
The rifle should be optional as well since blasters aren't always allowed.
Those are my 2 credits.
