Hi!

I have been a RL member for about a year now and I believe I am finally ready to take the plunge here and have a shot at building Kenobi. Plus my loving wife puts up with me and has agreed (or she just wants me to finally shut-up about it!) Wink

I have been looking at fabrics for the past 6 months and have narrowed it down to one. It is a cream/ivory colored, loose knit, cotton blend weave that has a puckery texture to it. If sewn right with the vertical striations, it will look quite close to Kenobi's. The big plus is that it is much easier to care for, it has a self-backing material and it sews better then the regular cotton gauze! I am currently working with a seamstress on this for the OT, tabbards and obi.

My generic belt will suffice as I have the correct buckle, the required 8 studs and it is the proper shade of brown.

I have acquired the 4 belt pouches from a friend in the hobby who was retiring from his Kenobi impression. Sad

I have had a proper pleated collar shirt made in the dark brown color with the long sleeves.

I had the bottom ends of the sleeves puckered to give the look of length and "bunchiness" when exposed. Very Happy

First body shot with khaki pants and under tunic.

Looks like you're off to a great start so far! Others can provide much more detailed expertise than me, but best of luck with your build! Very Happy

Received my ROTS boots. I am pleased with how they came out. The feel and fit is perfect and they are so light-can’t wait to wear them!

Next up I am working on getting a proper belt keeper. I still need to attack the soft parts of the tunic and tabbards as well. I may resort to having these made. I have been corresponding with a couple Etsy vendors. My hilt is getting finished by Romans Props and should be here this month Wink ...

The Roman Props “Elite Inception” hilt has arrived. Wanted to share a few pics of the piece de resistance! It took 11 months from the time I ordered it to receive it due to the pandemic Shocked. It is not installed but that is not a requirement for approval (it will be yet another project for the install as I think I want to do a neopixel)

I am still working on finding the correct fabric for the OT, tabbards and Obi that I believe I have a lead. That should be my next post in this build thread!

Thanks for looking.

Update on my build.
I’ve decided to go with an Etsy vendor as the fabric is very close to screen accurate as I can find. It is a 100% cotton gauze which has the required “crinkled” look. It is about 300g weight and will be double layered. It will also have an ivory silk lining in the OT much like the screen original. Here are a few pics of the fabric:

We should have this done by mid April.

That is such a better option Dan.

I was concerned about the first fabric choice and think you may have struggled but this option looks great ! Very Happy
