I ordered myself a Rebel Fleet Trooper helmet for Christmas a long time ago and almost forgot about it. Now that the command costume is done and I have a helmet are you thinking what I'm thinking?

I've already built the helmet and I have the perfect pair of paints to sew the stripe on to. I'm going to build a rank badge with blue pips this weekend and I'm trying to source the perfect pair of boots.

I spent the day painting my Soviet Era Jack boots to try and create the look of Captain Antilles boots. The color on the left looked much darker on the swatch and was clearly too light, the color on the right is much closer but still not dark enough so back to Tandy Leather tomorrow to pick up a much darker brown. The good thing is that Angelus Leather Paint is only $3-4 a bottle and the store is only a 5 minute drive.

I've wanted a jacket like this for casual wear for a long time, but this may have just cemented this costume as next in line after I finish my ERT.

It took quite a few tries with different colors but I finally have my boots painted and I think they look incredible. Keep in mind this pic was taken under some very bright studio lights so they're even darker in person under normal lighting.

I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I painted them the first time, I think in my head I thought his boots were maybe a similar brown to the belt color?!?! I don't know but I basically painted the boots tan and then brown and now finally a nice dark brown that matches the screen caps from both Rogue One and A New Hope Smile

I just unceremoniously glued some foam into my helmet and sealed the boots with an acrylic finisher to keep the paint flexible and keep it from chipping. I sewed the stripes onto the sides of my pants and they look great. I also added another piece of velcro to my shirt because I wasn't happy with the little clip I was using to keep it closed, it now falls perfectly every time I put it on with no fussing.

If I'm correct I think the only thing I have left to do is suit up and take photos... fingers crossed.

The darker brown looks much better than the light brown/tan. I am looking forward to seeing the entire costume.

I was finally able to put everything on to try it all out together and figured I might as well take my submission photos while I'm at it!

Thanka Patricia, the darker brown is much, much better for the boots and look great in person. Looking down at my pants while I was pulling the boots on was a little surreal because that stripe on the pants and the boots together really bring the whole costume together.

If you are going for the Rogue One version of Captain Antilles and wearing your Rogue One High Command officer jacket then why are you wearing an ANH rank badge instead of a Rogue One rank badge? Smile
