What: Star Wars-Themed Party
When: Thursday, Oct. 28, 8 pm
Where: CellSpace, 2050 Bryant at 18th, San Francisco

This is an after party following the screening of the film, The People vs. George Lucas at the Roxie Cinema at 7:15 pm, and is being run by a former 501st member, and current R2 Builder. It's also the closing party for the SF IndiFest Documentary Film Festival.

MOS EISLEY CANTINA
A Star Wars Themed Costume Party w/ SW film shorts

Featuring:

Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes
Tatooine cocktails
Games
Star Wars parodies in the screening room Cash prizes for creative costumes

CellSpace, 2050 Bryant at 18th

$5. FREE in costume or with any SF DocFest ticket stub. If you want to change inside just show part of the costume to security and they'll direct you to the changing room which will be set up in the loft above the main hall.

The loft won't be open to the general public but, unfortunately, it's not a lockable space.

If anyone has small valuable items we can probably store them in the office but I'll need to check about that.

Weapons are OK, just as long as they're concealed until you enter the party. There will be a costume contest which will focus on humor and ingenuity rather than accuracy.

This is in no way an official Lucas event, just a fun party for Star Wars fans and IndiFest patrons.

UPDATE:

From the event coordinator:

Just found out the changing room is a loft above the club, which will have Star Wars vendors. They'll be set up in front of the stairs leading up to the loft, which will NOT be open to the general public.

You can tell your members that the loft area holds probably 40 people comfortably. its pretty big, and they can arrive anytime after we do, which will be determined by what all we need to build that day.

If they require more security perhaps we could section off part of the loft.

Looks like we've got several 501st members going in armor!

It's looking to be pretty cool!

Let's see if it outdoes the "Villainy" event we did last year! Wink

do you think the world series might create some parking/traffic issues tonight?

also, i think im gonna wear my imperial tech costume instead. It will make it easier to dance than my jedi costume
