I'm officially starting!
I've got boots and blaster (tho I need to prime/paint it), holster and a pouch.
been studying the RebelsHaven tutorial from Deviant on Leia and will be working with that.
Not much on the vest there though, so looking for hints.
Also, kinda freaked about the WIG.
Hope to be approved in time for Celebration (got my tickets!!): is that unreasonable?
any hints/suggestions welcome! _________________ Marlene

I found my webbing on eBay, but they seem to be temporarily out of stock. Sorry! |

the belt can be sourced from a riggers belt, they are all over Ebay, or you can get a trislide buckle and get 2" webbing from WampaWear.com I order about 50 feet at a time from him because I make trooper belts, etc.
the vest is similar to but not identical to the commando vest. the details are different, but not completely different. i used two layers of cotton bottomweigth cloth called Cornstalk from Joanns fabrics to make mine. I used a T shirt laid out flat as my pattern and traced it onto plastic.
send Schph Gochi a PM for the greeblies. I just got a bunch of greeblies in from her.

found 2" webbing at Joanns, still looking for the slide.
think I just bought the cornstalk bottomweight fabric (a khaki/beige color) for the shirt but couldnt find a good gray for the vest.
also waiting for my request to join the yahoo endor groip to be approved!
one more question: greeblies!? what are they? _________________ Marlene

Greeblies are doohickies that we attach to the uniform...rank badges, communicator parts, things that arent sewed that added detail to the costume.
Liea has a rank greeblie on her right side of the vest.
Also i have often had a tough time finding a decent grey. Check the putdoor fabrics sections as well. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

Before you start cutting your fabric, I'd suggest making the shirt out of a lighter cotton, not the twill. My personal opinion is the twill is too heavy of a fabric. I made mine from cotton from the quilting section of Joanns. |

It's for comfort. As long as it looks correct it shouldn't hold you back from approval. |
