Hi everyone!

I've decided to make more comfortable costume and I set my mind on Leia. I finished sewing and I bought strands of artifical hair matching colour of my hair. I'm still looking for nice shoes.

Here are some photos of my dress. Please, don't look at hair - I pinned it up just to see how I look like with buns and in dress. Moreover I didn't add artifical strands.

Do you have any suggestions?

What I can see looks pretty good. Is your hood open in the back or closed?

It is recommended that you line the dress. (It should be self lined).

Can't say anything else right now.

I agree with what Lora said. The other concern I have is the shape of your belt. The bottom edge of your belt looks too much like -v- rather than a smooth curve into the V.

I've changed the shape of the belt, as Jenna suggested Smile

Hood is open in the back. I used lining all over the dress, except sleeves. I sewed sleeves from the double layer of the same fabric.
Fabric is very nice, but two layers of it is quite heavy. To keep the dress looking light, I had to use lining. I made exception for sleeves - this way it looks like the gown is made from two layers of the same material.

Your dress really looks very nice. Given how heavy your fabric is, your lining choice was very smart.

And now I'm afraid I didn't do a very good job explaining the belt and you misunderstood me. The bottom of the belt should come to a pointed V, like you had before. It is how the rest of the belt gets to that V that I am concerned about. Here's a quick diagram of what would be a better shape:

I've changed the shape of my belt:

I hope it looks properly now Wink

I also started making shoes for Leia (with a loooooot of help from my boyfriend, who was cutting strips for shoes):
