The belt is almost finished. I got the holster from Darman. He did a fantastic job! I'm unsure of how to position the belt through the buckle. In the promotional pictures and screen shots, there are various ways she has it. Looking through approved RL costumes, same thing. I plan on sewing the holster side and then having a hidden snap behind the front pouch. Recommendations?

Leaning towards this one. It seems to be in the pictures more often.

I've seen it done this way also though...

Beyond that, I'm in a bit of a holding pattern. The acquisition of a wrist communicator and rank badge seems to "have developed a bit of a flutter." I'm hopeful that I'll eventually be able to submit my application. I guess it just gives me extra time to work on my son's costume for the Joliet Library's Star Wars Day 6 in June Smile

Nice work on the belt rigging. I personally like the first version, as it's a nice buckle, but we would be happy with it either way. As you say, the reference photos are inconsistent.

And...since we have a number of the Senatorial judges looking in on this...

I have a question...

I got a chance to meet Laura and see her wonderful costume yesterday at an event....
we were talking about the Endor Leia...and about her poncho...

I had thought that I had read somewhere that they used a Swedish Snow Jacket to make the poncho...
those jackets are actually lightweight white pieces that were used over military wear to camo themselves in snow...

so..
I remembered that I had bought a 3 pack of those a long time ago to use one for the hooded jacket of my Endor Commando...and I told Laura that I thought I had one left...
and I do...

the jacket even has a little Swedish stamp on it...

Obviously...the buttons are something that would need to be removed...
and the piece would have to be dyed tan and then camo painted (as all other Endor pieces are)...
but the question is...
does anyone know how they turned that jacket into a poncho?

Not the foggiest clue. It doesn't even appear to have enough material in it for that.

I'd never heard that. I'll have to do a bit more research. Somewhere I have an image of the poncho before they painted it. I think it was for a fitting or something like that.

Tried to submit my application this evening. It kept telling me "Required parameter missing". I guess I'll try again in the morning. I swear I filled everything out and put direct links in the correct boxes. I even checked the test images! Bang Head

Here are a couple of my submission pics...

I think that message means that the one photo that you are uploading to the RL website is too large..
try compressing that photo
and re-submit..

the photos that you link to can be as large as Photobucket will allow

As one who has both the snow jacket, for my ERT, and the poncho for Leia, I find it unlikely that they are made from the same base. Is it possible that they took the hood from the snow jacket and then added that to a poncho? I just don't see how you can get enough fabric from the jacket, both when it comes to the back and the sleeves.

Love your costume!! I'm working on this one now too. Can you tell me, where did you get your wrist communicator? Or, if you made it, where did you find the pieces? Thank you!!

With the help of JediMeg from my base, I have the poncho for Endor Commando Leia sewn. Megan was nice enough to sew the hood for me since I had no idea where to begin. I'm learning, be it ever so slowly!

I started a WIP thread for my Endor Commando Leia since this one was for my Rebel Briefing Room.
