That looks fantastic! It makes me want one! I should track down my brother with his access to a 3D printer at work.

Wow, that turned out great! Mr. Green Reminds me I need to get on with my code cylinder project and do another test print.

I have been using my 3D printer blaster for trooping- printed at a public library! Many public libraries have 3D printers, so they can be a great resource- for life & maker items!
That said I did just EBay the Kenner blaster & will spray paint black. It's slightly larger & less delicate. Trooping last sat my blaster fell & pieces rolled all over so needs to be glued together.

Yeah, depending on the material it can be delicate. My library doesn't offer 3D printing (yet), but at some point I'm sure we will. We just need to figure out the printers ourselves first... Laughing I've got another contact though, in walking distance from my home, so I just need to get myself kicked into gear to get the model changed and then over to them to get another test print.

What type of 3D printer (brand/model) is everyone using?

I would thing this would violate Shapeways policy on weapons and likewise I would think some libraries would be weary of printing a firearm-like object, at least where I live.

I've only really worked with FlashForge Dreamer.

We wouldn't worry about something obviously fake/non working, but then again, we're not terribly concerned about most things here. Wink I live in a laid back country.

Yep, read my library's policies in the 3d printer and they won't allow anything resembling parts of firearms nor will they allow anything that might not be your own intellectual property.

Does that include thingiverse files? Those are shared for free... and there's generally speaking a lot of open source files out there.

I got mine printed at my local library. I made sure and told them what it was before starting. They had no problem printing it; even asked me to bring it back when I was done to show them. I modified it to make Leia's Endor blaster.
