First off, thank you for the tutorial! I need to remake mine! Also, I agree that the material is thick...whatever it is.

My squadron just made the pieces for 8. We use canvas drop cloth found at home depot. We use heavy interfacing to stiffen it up and the n use 1/8" - 1/4" nylon rope to doe the "puckers" at the front. I'm going to velcro a magnet on the inside of the gator and one on the inside of the jumpsuit to keep in in place (they tend to rotate when walking around).

What we did was use a magnet-button behind the front and back seams on each legging. They have the spreading "legs" that you can push through the fabric... And the other half on the flight suit. Eliminates velcro Smile

Heh heh, you guys went fancier than I did. I just did a couple small tacking stitches. They keep the gaiters in place, they're easy to snip if I want to remove the gaiters, and you don't even see the tiny bit of thread.

...I used two belt clips (one each gaiter) and fixed them to the inside...
...so my gaiters are just clipped to the upper boot shaft end...that of course only works with jack boots and not if you use something else...

What if you were to shorten the flight suit and just permanently sew the gaiter in place w/ a hidden seam? I only ask because I just started my a wing pilot build

I don't think that you'd really need to shorten the legs of the fllightsuit at all, the gaiters could just go right over the legs (which is what I do). My gaiters are tacked to the legs, and I just put the legs over the top of the boots.

Gotcha. I hate to ask a silly question, but did some of you guys need to adjust the dimensions of the v template to make this work?
