Greetings.

New guy here looking to possibly put together a clone costume. First off, I think I read that a realistic Captain Rex is no longer acceptable here. Does that mean the only option is the animated style Rex?

I am familiar with the KW and DW armor kits but was wondering what other options are out there that would work for an animated Rex. I would love to get the KW set but the armor, helmet and pauldron is rather cost prohibitive buying it all at once, and I don't know what the DW armor would cost. I have thought about just buying the armor kit to start with and getting the helmet and pauldron later, but wanted to get some opinion on what else is available before committing to anything.

This would also be my first time doing something like this. From what I have read it sounds like starting out with clone armor is like learning to swim jumping into the deep end of the pool, but not impossible. Razz

I don't think DW Design makes an animated kit. WCA/ATA is possibly what you're looking for?

Additionally, there is a difference between Season 1-3 and Season 4+ with the Animated characters' armor.

That being said, the Realistic Rex IS approvable again on the 501st side.

Thanks. I just signed up at CT.net and checked out the WCA/ATA set. Looks like he only offers phase 1 armor though where the KW helmet I want to use is phase 2. I'm thinking I will just go with KW all the way, just start out with the helmet and pauldron and get the armor set later on.

I already have a pair of 3D printed DC-17's on order, hollow inside so I can give it the Blaster Core treatment.
