Thanks Mark , yep the nose bridge has been bothering me. ....... Wow ! Thanks Sarah, the comparison photo you whipped up really shows the areas that needs major improvement. looks like i will re-do from the Nose bridge down to the chin line. |

Hi there. I'm just lurking around today in the Chewie forums and I saw your work. What you've started so far is absolutely beautiful! And I love the genuis of using plastic spoons for the toenails. _________________ The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. Hello! thanks for the kind words, i hope to do justice to Chewie even though this is on a shoestring budget. he is currently on the backburner as a friend asked if i can build a Medieval Knight for a school presentation, will work on this again soon , but have made some adjustments to the muzzle as suggested by a number of wonderful people here.... kind regards!! |

Hello everyone, i'm back , this was put on hiatus since i have benn focusing on getting my Vader to 501st standards so i can be accepted into the local 501st ( working on a tight budget to get to acceptable standards is tough...hehe) . Anyways....have recently begun working on this again ( small boxes and the strap for the bando, will post pics soon), because have been motivated upon learning/seeing that the Philippines has got its very first Legion approved Chewie ( even first in Asia i think, could be wrong though). this will still be a slow build, but hoping to eventually finish this...cheers to all!! |

Hi, i made templates of cardstock using measurements found here, then traced them unto aluminum trays. then folded accordingly to its proper shape and superglued , the lid/lip is just thicker cardboard cut to shape and wrapped in aluminum tape then attached to the box, the smaller boxes are done likewise. here are some shots when attaching them to the bando strap ( german pleather).
its not the most accurate bandolier around ( hehehe) but for the budget, its quite ok will still attach rivet heads to the lip/lid of the big boxes. |

Thanks and you're welcome! on a side note, i accompanied the wife last night to purchase cloth for a Yoda costume we will be making for our youngling for Halloween and inquired if they have a "Latching tool" ( have been looking for one since i purchased the hair for Chewie. ) they said they dont know what i was referring to ( same reply from most shops i've been to) and all would offer me Crochet hooks instead, until i asked for a piece of paper and drew what i was looking for , and the shopkeeper exclaimed "OHH, a "Carpet Hook", then she produced one from the back room. Nyahaha...sometimes language barriers really are detrimental to our hobby...
, hopefully this motivates me further to start on the suit... |

I think your bandolier is awesome, and I am glad to see that you were able to locate a latch/carpet hook to begin latch hooking your costume- it's been very enjoyable watching your build, and I look forward to future posts- MTFBWY! |

Haha..thanks, i'm always on the lookout for cheap toy guns whenever i passby toy shops, looking for ones with a grip that looks like Chewie's Bowcaster, it will be the base for the Bowcaster build, also usually swing by gun/hobby shops and looking for scopes on clearance sale that might be usable. have recently purchased suede to be utillized for the Satchel/Pouch.. if i finishe the pouch...i'm going to have to Psyche myself to finish attaching hair to my stilts and finally start on the mesh suit latching... |

Hi everyone, long time no updates. apologies, am busy getting my Vader up to 501st standards, hoping to submit approval pics after Rogue One comes out. anyways.... i got my sound thingee from 123 electronics ( sis brought it home from MD) along with other Vader parts, ...question... which sound files do you guys use? oh and finally found white ( non kanekalon) hair i will mix with the browns and blacks to produce the gray hair. will definitely go back to work on this soonest. because i've seen Chewie and Vader together on troops....and....Chewie trumps Vader most of the time...hahaha.... advanced Merry Christmas to all!! mtfbwy |
