Has anyone tried this helmet kit from ChristWerxProps ? I believe they are also listed for sale on RPF.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/280838536/raw-kit-fan-made-tfa-x-wing-pilot-helmet?ref=shop_home_feat_1

I'm looking for a reasonably priced kit with decals.

Update
Went with the Allen Amis kit and finished pics are at

I haven't selected a helmet yet but have been looking around. I moved on from this one because the sides at the chin/jaw didn't look proportionate enough for me, they looked a bit too small.

I have four unfinished kits in my basement now for our group build. They arrived earlier this week. I haven't had a chance to open the boxes yet.

I do see what you are saying, I don't think that's a deal breaker for me though. I'm actually concerned about the helmet looking a little oversized when worn, as I don't have a large head.

Please let me know your opinion on them when you check them out. I'd really like to see some pictures of them being worn. There are some reviews on etsy that are positive, but not much in the way of completed pics of someone wearing one.

I'm also seeing this Allen Amis one:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/478425631/star-wars-tfa-x-wing-resistance-pilot?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=tfa pilot helmet&ref=sr_gallery_1

but it is more expensive, +$30 shipping, and does not appear to include decals.

Hmm, how else to explain. If you look where the microphone is attached that is where it would cover the lower side/jaw area of your face. In the Allen Amis one, it goes out about to the end of the yellow glasses part. The Christwerx is much shorter in length from back of helmet to front of helmet.

Currently I am leaning toward the Allen Amis one myself, he said it is about a 2 week turnaround once ordered. I too am waiting to see more completed helmets by others before ordering as it is only optional for approval.

FYI: I just got to see one of Allen's helmets up close over the weekend, and while it is nicer looking than many of the other choices, it may not be a good choice for those with a larger head. I'm a 7 1/4 hat size and when I tried to put it on, I stopped at my ears because I was afraid of getting my head stuck in it. I probably could have squeezed it on there, but if you are larger than 7 1/4 I would recommend looking for a larger helmet.

Thx for the info. The smaller size is actually ok for me since i have a small head, so i think i am going with the Allen Amis one. I see he also has some new pics of it being worn on the etsy listing now.

David that is very good info. Thanks for sharing that. I may not do the costume but would love to have a helmet for the collection.
