Ewok Village Leia standard

1. A dress with short sleeves and multi-panel, multi-length skirt in natural pig hide. Other suede materials are acceptable.

A. The bodice is fitted and has princess seams and a center seam. Front and back mirrors each other. Center seams are optional. The princess seams are decorated with thin cords in an X pattern. The cords are made from the same hide as the dress. The cords must match the dress. The front of the bodice has a low V neck with a thicker hide cord at the bottom. The V neck has three holes to thread the cord through on each side of the bottom of the V and they are tied between the top set. The cord for the V neck should be approximately 2/5” / 1 cm wide. No grommets.

B. The sleeves go down to the biceps and stop about 2” / 5 cm above the elbow. They are not tightly fitted around the arm. The top of the armhole seam is decorated with the same X pattern as the princess seams. The cords go from princess seam in front to princess seam in back.

C.The skirts consist of two layers. Shortest length is just above knee and longest is mid shin. It has three long points.

C.1. Under layer goes all the way around and starts and stop over the right leg. It has a small overlap between the two sides, but splits open. It starts just over right knee, goes diagonally down to the left, curves up to knee height at the left side. It then curves around the back and down on the right side to end in one of the low points.

C.2. Over layer only covers the left side and front and back mirrors each other, starting and ending in a low point. The hide is folded back at start and stop to expose the lighter backside of it. It curves upwards on the left side to just above knee height and then down again towards the back.

2. The dress has a belt/sash in the same material as the dress tied around the seam separating the bodice from the skirt. The belt is wide, approximately 3” / 7-8 cm and folded double with a top stitch along the 'open' side. It hangs down to the knees and the ends are cut diagonally. The belt/sash should be just above the hips.

3. Long, off-white/natural white sleeves are worn under the dress. They can be attached at the armhole or be a separate shirt. The sleeves are not tightly fitted. They have two ridges approximately 2/5” / 1 cm high; one are on top of the sleeve, the other at the side. It should lie on the elbow point when the arm is bend. The sleeves are gathered with grey, flat suede cord at the wrists. A small hole is at the bottom of each ridge to feed the cord through and tighten it. The cord should hang from the wrist with approximately 4” / 10 cm for each end. There should be approximately 1” / 2-3 cm from the grey cord to the end of the sleeve.

4. Flat, light brown/tan leather (or similar) sandals that closely match the dress. The sandals must have an X pattern over the foot. The straps must be approximately ½" / 1.5-2 cm wide. One (1) to three (3) X's are permitted, two (2) are preferred. Heel cap is preferred.

5. Long wavy hair with braid waves, pulled back off the face. Hair must come down to waist, preferably hips. Two braids start on top of the head and cross each other to the other side. Thin light brown/tan suede/leather cords crosses around the braids. A single long braid is also permitted. The braid(s) can be attached to a neutral hairband. The braid ends go down to chest height. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs. Brown hair preferred.

Optional:

1. Matte red-brown lipstick.

2. Black non-liquid eyeliner and mascara.

3. Brown lenses.

Note: Makeup used must enhance a natural look.

Looks good, except I wouldn't require that the cord is the same material/hide as the dress. I think as long as the color matches and it is suede, it shouldn't have to be the same. I bought my suede leather suede from Joanns and it didn't come from the suede I used from my dress.

I also don't think that the center seam should be required; as we never knew about it until the Costumes book and you can't really see it in the movie. I think it should be listed as optional.

Very nicely done in detail Lora Very Happy Thumbs up

True, but they will make the construction easier. Wink I can change the center seams to be optional.

The original did have the same material for the cording and from what I have seen costumers often have trouble getting the cords to match when they buy something different for them. I looked into buying separate suede cords and found I could never quite match the dress with them. Confused The current wording states that the cords are made of the same material as the dress (the original), but if someone can find something else that looks exactly the same, I wouldn't have a problem with it. It would have to be able to fool me and other LCJs though aka be a complete match.
