hi everyone,

Shall continue posting pics of my progress on my Bowcaster here ( as it should have been in the firstplace ...hehe)

the pair of 4x20 scopes arrived...

have begun applying epoxy clay to the stock...

roughly trying on the scopes...

assembling the sideplate ( illustration board, washers, assorted caps, and some other found items ...)

trying it on the stock if ok...

rough details on how the bow attaches to the stock...

the scope mount rail came as well, trying it on also...

minor refinements on the scopes...

how everything looks together so far..

still scrounging for balls/polarizers, once basic parts are complete, shall start sanding the stock so can begin painting everything..

comments and constructive criticism are always appreciated.

thanks for looking.

Balls...from xmas ornaments...broke several finding ones that don't shatter when bounced on the floor..haha, these ones felt more "plasticky" and i also squeezed PVA glue into them..

looks good man.... I remember someone used rubber dog balls one time... and another paper machaed (sp?) over some of those styrofoam balls and sanded them to a smooth finish as well.... But you have yourself a cool bow caster for sure!

Thanks bro! as typical to my budget scratch builds, parts are whats usually available around the house ( except parts that are more practical to buy than DIY), but everything is subject to replacement when better options present themselves. this is a fun building/learning experience..hopefully when i complete this...it kickstarts me into continuing on the suit. haha

Hi everyone,

basic parts seems complete, will now disassemble again so can start sanding ( ughhh ), and painting to follow; here's where its at before i take it apart:

do i attach the bowstring like ROTJ/ESB or leave it off like ANH? whole thin is pretty light weight at 2.12 Lbs.

rifle sling to be done after re-assembly.

comments and constructive criticism always appreciated.

thanks for looking.

stock can still be improved with more sanding, but..... got impatient and tired of sanding so, painted it up and assembled, still waiting on the sling and deciding if i will attach the bowstring, heres where its at...

now to get my Chewie out from storage and continue on it while motivation is still high...hahaha

thanks! the sling has arrived and although not as SA as i would want, it looks really good and completes the look of the Bowcaster, minor tweaks to be done but generally its finished ( still undecided if i will be attaching the bowstring for ESB/ROTJ look). will now continue work on the pouch/satchel and then...(fingers crossed)...start/continue on the suit again. hehe

thanks for looking!
Cheers!
