I've finally got everything painted, although I'm not real happy with how it turned out. I learned a lot though, and now that I have everything to a finished state, I can go back and start to make modifications. I'll be attempting to wear it this weekend at the big Dallas Fan Expo, I hope it all goes well. Here it is before I added all the greeblies, and I haven't figured out a way to put the hands on the PVC mannequin I made yet.

Just for fun, here's my back panel with electronics. They barely fit in the back area, but it should work for walking around, and letting my handler(s) turn the eyes off and on, replace the batteries, and change the volume of the speakers.

The big Dallas convention was this past weekend, and with some help I was able to debut TX C-3PO!

I'll be using #txc3po to try to distinguish this one from all the ones I see on here. I will have to submit, I'm sure there are dozens of things I need to fix before it's approvable.
