Hi, everyone!
I've started (well, been working on for some time) a Rey costume, which I want to be movie quality. (Who doesn't?!?)
To this end here is my progress to date. Suggestion, comments and critiques are both requested and appreciated!

The ribbed sleeve:

The main shirt:

I'm using these bandages for the armwraps (they aren't dyed yet).

I also have a pair of white compression sleeves that are going to be dyed to match and put under the wraps.
I have the wrap dress fabric and the headwrap fabric both dyed but no pics of them yet.
I have started on the backpack, and have been able to aquire 3d prints of the backpack greeblies.
For the goggles, I bought a pair from another cosplayer who was making them. I will post pics of them later.
I also have the staff from KyleGilbertDesigns, but it is the one with the metal pipe; is that going to be a problem?
I have the fabric for the pants, but have not dyed it or made them yet.
I also have the bracer almost finished.

I'm quite excited to work on this costume, and (hopefully) join you all.

I have just finished cementing the bracer pieces together! Shirt and headwrap will also soon be done.

looking good so far although the shirt looks a tad light and on the white side of things. Be careful on the arm wraps, you don't want the ends to show through from underneath.

The shirt is light, but I haven't dyed it yet. I actually forgot to dye it before making it because I was so excited to start, but I plan to fix that soon!
I think that my armwraps are long enough that the ends won't show, but if not I plan to get another roll to lengthen them.
I also had to scale the bracer up by a quarter, because the original pattern I used was too small. I'll post pics of it as soon as I get a chance!

Finished my shirt tonight! Still need to dye it a little darker, but I'm very happy with it. It was my first big sewing project, and I learned a lot!
Here it is!

Here's the sleeve, I still have to run a zig-zag stich around the edge:

And the side seams. According to my reference pics, this was the most screen accurate method of reproducing them. I sewed the seams with a straight stitch and the seam allowance on the outside, then trimmed down to about a quarter inch, pressed the allowance to the front and zig-zag stitched over it.

My bracer is constructed too, though I still need to dye it darker and weather it a bit.

Most impressive! When you get the backpack done you should start a new thread and show step by step how you built it. Would make a great tutorial for others wanting to build theirs from scratch.

I've collected almost all my hardware to finish the bag. All I need now are a couple more rectangle rings and the rug to make the shoulder pad.

Gloves are almost done too. I just need to add the elastic to the wrists and put the suede palm on the right one.

The last picture is an older one. I have finished that glove's fabric insets and dyed it to match the finished one.

I've been working on the backpack for awhile, so the rest of the costume has somewhat lagged as I've done so. I have a build thread for the pack on the RPF, so instead of reposting everything, I'm just going to give the link to it here. Hopefully it will help anyone else who wants to make theirs from scratch.
And if you do, its not too hard! Measure thrice, give yourself extra, and cut once.

I took a lot of pics when I've made my backpack. I used a messenger bag. I hope this will help if people want to make it : https://www.facebook.com/pg/kendracosplay/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1090051821077726

Ooh, yes, thank you! Your pics of the finished backpack on the RPF were part of what helped me decide to make mine. I especially admire how you made the bottles.
What fabric did you wrap the big bottle in? I can't seem to find anything similar.
