Okay, so here I go.

I have been playing around with color combos and decided I would post my favorite to see if it would be acceptable (and if not, I'll move on to my next color choice lol). Hopefully the colors will show up properly.

The blue would be a very deep, dark blue, possibly a cotton gauze, and the brown of the tunic is a soft leather type material (I had a lot left over from my Tolkien Ranger costume). The inner tunic would be white and the pants black. I plan on making a dark brown robe as well.

Well, there's my first post (and I'm amazed I finally got that picture to show up). Looking forward to thoughts. Smile

hallo, i am no costume judge and i think a dark blue show work

10) Permitted Colors for Outer Tunics, Inner Tunics, Tabards, Obi, Pants and Robes/Cloaks(capes): Earth tone colors, preferably shades of brown, gray, black and white. Other earth tones are allowed (greens, blues, yellows, violets and reds (where the reds are darker and in the burgundy family), but should be muted. No bright or loud (sharp) colors are allowed (examples would include: red, pink, neon green, etc.). Combinations of red and black are not allowed, as they are considered Sith colors. Colors of the Generic Jedi costume may be mixed and matched (except for the belt and boots). Legion Costume Judges are the final authority on color. If in doubt, contact a Legion Costume Judge for an opinion on proposed color combinations before construction.

if it's a "very deep, dark blue" as you say, then you'll be fine. the judges will have no problem with it.

These are the fabric swatches I got to check out colors and fabrics. The color I'm wanting is the dark blue at the top of the picture. The leather type material I am planning on using is at the bottom along with a white I'm thinking of using for the inner tunic.

So I'm going with a completely different color combination for my Jedi but that's not my question today (lol). Smile

My question is concerning hems: is there a requirement when it comes to them? I was considering just using a Serger to finish off the edges and not hem them at all. Would that be acceptable?

Here is my template that kind of shows the colors I'm using.

And here are two of the pieces for the OT cut out. The outside is a very light cream, almost white, and the underside is gray. I love the homespun look to this fabric. Smile

This was the only "neutral" looking spot my friend had when we were taking the pictures. Will this work or should I find another spot to take my application photos?
