I made this Sullustan Mask using 60mm acrylic ornaments for the eyes. The problem is that every tactic I've tried to tint the eyes and have them see through has utterly failed. Tinted spray paint (seen in the pictures) is not see through, and dying the acrylic with idye poly didn't work at all. Airbrushing also didn't work. I'm pulling what little left of my hair I have out trying to figure this out.
I've heard pteg plastic dyes well, but I certainly don't have a vacuum-form machine to create 60mm orbs out of pteg, or any other plastic for that matter. Does anyone out there have a vacuum-form machine who would be willing to make the eyes out of tinted plastic for me?
PM with your price and I'll send you the ornaments I'm using for you to get the right size.
Thanks for looking!

Hi Jeff,
Well, have you tried a fabric dye like for example here ? I guess if not too warm, you could do the ball without loosing the shape.

But I would suggest the best solution is ornament acrylic balls that are black. I know some exists in black and they look shiny form outside, but form inside you can see through with a dark greenish tint.
I could find a pic, something like that :

Contacting one of the Legion providers of Rebel Pilot or Rebel Fleet Trooper helmets may be an option. I know that several of them have offered the dark blue acrylic visors used by the Y-Wing pilots on Yavin. I've also seen providers of the Rebel Fleet Trooper visors in dark gray acrylic. Either of these will have vacuuform machines, and you can work with them on getting the correct shape.
