:jedi1: Hello there Rebels, Pilots, Royalty, Troopers, Commanders and people on the Fringe! :jedi1:

I'd just like to welcome any newcomers from countries or areas where we dont have an Outpost or Base in the club at the moment to the 'Outer Rim'. Its a place where most journeys begin in the Rebel Legion...and end when there are enough members in a country or area where a grouping is proposed. At the point when an outpost or base is approved by the RL Council, a dedicated area/forum is then created for that new group.

We'd love to work with Rebels from across the Galaxy, and if this means working with just one person (that could be you!) to help build up an Outpost and eventually a Base, then please feel free to start a topic here telling us about yourself and what happens in your area (events, people, fun activities, etc). We will then do our best to help you on your way to joining the Rebellion!

If you have any questions or comments, you can either start up a message thread in the Outer Rim area yourself or PM me or any of the other command staff to chat and find out more information or suggestions about how to get things going.

Good luck! Dance Chewie

May the Force be with you - wherever you are! You are never alone. Ben

Rebel Legion members wishing to start a new Base or Outpost must follow the guidelines set down in the RL Charter Article IV Section B and fill out a Base/Outpost application form. This is to ensure that the new Base/Outpost has all the resources in place prior to going active.

For the formations of a New Base there must be 15 RL members in a specific area and for an Outpost there must be 5 members. Once your application is received it will be reviewed and discussed by The Legion Administrative Council and The Rebel Command Council. It may include the potential Base/Outpost Commanders. The Legion Council will then vote to approve or deny the Base/Outpost application.

Some of the information that we would require would be for example ;

* The proposed Name of new Base/Outpost
* The name of new Base/Outpost Commander
* Which geographic region the new Base/Outpost is in
* The name of the Base/Outpost Executive Officer
* A logo designed for the Base/Outpost
* A roster of the current RL members in the proposed Base/Outpost:
* Ideas about what the plans are for the new Base/Outpost (events, possible website, etc)

Greetings from Guatemala Mara Jade

I just got approved. (Mara Jade as Arica)

I'm the first Rebel Legion member in my country. But already encouraging my friends to join. Hopefully in a near future we'll be able to have our Outpost.

As per coming events my friends and I are attending a blood drive on July 18th.

Guess that's all for now.

Best wishes,
Maria[/url]

... a question that some have asking me.

the outer rim, is it possible to become a member of the outer rim, while there is a base/outpost in your region, but of some reason, you don't want to join them, or you don't feel good in your skin between them, but you want to stay member of rebel legion ...

or don't you have a choice, you must go to that base/outpost in your region, or stay with them ...

i know Outer Rim ain't a base or whatever.
but you have group people, and you have solo people
or whatever reason

This is a good question. Can a person join the Outer rim instead of the base that covers their own state? Is that acceptable?

This section of the Legion Charter may answer your question

Quote:
C. Unit Affiliation
Member affiliation in a Base or Outpost is normally based upon geographical boundaries and the memberís primary residence. However an exception to be Adopted or Retained by a different Unit can be requested by a member under unique/special circumstances only, and then approved by the Commanding Officers of each Unit. If the Commanders of the Units can not come to agreement, the Captain of the Guard. (COG) will provide binding arbitration. Once the Commanding Officers of each Unit approve the exemption, the Legion Membership Officer (LMO) and COG must sign off on the Approval. If there is deadlock on the sign off the Legion Commanding Officer(LCO) will break the deadlock with their decision. If an exemption is denied, the member may not apply for another exemption for a full year from the denial. A copy of denial, or the approval by both Commanders, and sign off by LMO and COG (and LCO if needed), will be filled with LMO and COG. Exemptions can not be requested by a block of members, each individual member must request a exemption separately and cite their own unique/special circumstances. If Unit Affiliation is approved and signed off, the member becomes a full voting member of the Unit. (See Article V: Elections & Voting for geographical restrictions for Commander of a Unit).
Adoption: An Active member can request to be placed in a neighboring Unit if they have unique/special circumstances and it is more feasible to regularly attend events with that neighboring Unit. If approval and sign off is received the member may switch affiliations. A member must troop, in a Rebel Legion approved costume that is listed in the memberís profile, at least one event per Census year in their adopted Unitís territory. If member does not have one troop in their adopted Unitís territory per Census year, member must return to their geographical Unit.
An Inactive member must remain in their geographic Unit and member can not request adoption by a new Unit until they return to Active status by completing one troop, in a Rebel Legion approved costume that listed in the memberís profile, in the adopting Unitís territory.
Retain Original: If an Active member changes primary residence, or if the Base splits into two or more Bases, the Commander or LMO should move the memberís profile to the appropriate geographical Unit.
However, if Active member wishes to remain in their original Unit, they must receive approval and sign off. A member must troop in a Rebel Legion approved costume that listed in the memberís profile at least one event per Census year in their original Unitís territory. If member does not have one troop in their original Unitís territory per Census year, member must be transferred to their appropriate geographical Unit.
An Inactive member that changes primary residence must be transferred to their appropriate geographic Unit (if the new address is known) and member can not request return to original Unit until they return to Active status by completing one troop, in a Rebel Legion approved costume that listed in the memberís profile, in the original Unitís territory.
