Hi all,

I'm currently looking for resources for my hutt-slayer leia costume.
I've been talking to the Dune Sea crew about it and they told me that Worbla isn't favoured as a resource.

When looking for other thermoplastics, i've discovered Thibra and i'm really positie about it!
I was wondering if Thibra is approval friendly?

Nomally, i raher make my costume myself, but if i can't make it with thermoplastic, i fear i have to buy it from a commissioner. Not that that's a very big issue, but i enjoy making costumes myself. Razz

Hi ! You might get more answer in the dedicated section of the forum, for Leia's costumes : http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=687
As well as some tutorials here : http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=252

Specially this one:

The thing is... no material is approval friendly. It's all about the finishing of the material. Like for 3D printing, if you paint directly the object without sanding, you will still see the printing lines, and as good as the details can be printed... it will not be approvable!
The problem with worbla is that, depending on the one you choose (less the case for black art or the new pearly one), you can have a rough surface. While this case be useful for some metal effect (like hammered kind-of, metals), it is not the case for all parts of the Leia slave costume.

So, I would say you could go for worbla and be approve with no problem if you finish it correctly. The question is then more on other criteria : confort to wear, strength, shape holding (if you take the meshed worbla, then it will hold it shape pretty well) and so on. That I could not tell you however what is the best solution.
