If you have a bunch, that would be awesome. I was just playing around with what I had on hand at my house. I'm still going to give the smaller set I made today a shot, at the very least to get the spacing figured out, and be able to see the soft parts together with the glowy eyes.

I've got the hood and robe assembled, just working on fraying the sleeves and hem. The shoes have all the scraps and trimmings from my sewing stuffed in them waiting to be glued together this week.

Last part I need to order is the bandoleers, and those are likely going to need to wait until February to place the orders for them...

Pictures coming within the next few days - I completely forgot to take any when I was still in my work area.

Even if you order them in Feb, start searching for them now. It can be hard to find good ones.

Good to know. I've got links bookmarked to a few of them - I'll have to look a little more closely at the reviews before I put in the order. Thanks.

Sweet - the Balaclava I ordered to keep my hair under control and keep my neck covered came in a day early, as did the paintball mask I plan to use for the base of my face covering. It fits perfectly over my glasses, and I can breathe in it, too!

Not much to look at right now - just makes me look creepy and scares the cats.

I've been taking breaks here and there to glue scraps and wrappings onto an old pair of Jedi boots that I'm going to use for this. My cat was kind enough to star the distressing process... making them perfect for this project.

Layering strips and scraps on, and having fun blending it in...

I'll be at 3rd Eye on the 20th, actually. 3rd Eye is my favorite comic book shop, so I was just bouncing with glee when I saw that there was an event there.

Thanks again!

Cool, I'll be there for a little bit before I have to head to a work thing.

Finished wrapping the boots. This was tedious as all get out, but I like how it turned out. I grabbed some sandy-colored acrylic paint to start the weathering.

I haven't taken a picture of the first go-round of paint application yet, but here's the boots once they have all the stuff glued on. I used a combination of high-temp hot glue and E6500 to attach the fabric to the boots.

Since I wrapped some of the strips under the sole of the boot, does anyone have a suggestion for how to improve traction/lasting power on the walking surface of the boot? I'd like something to just seal/cover the bottom surface, that won't interrupt the look, since the fabric will eventually wear out. Especially with walking around conventions and events.

Thank you so much for the capsules. I'm currently in the process of coloring them now.

After comparing my fabric swatch with Amalphiea's finished costume... I threw the costume in for another round in dye. Washing and drying it to make sure it is dark enough now. The shoes are going to be of the lighter fabric, but it sort of blends together and just looks very weathered with sand/sun bleaching... I may dunk the boots in the dye bath again just to darken them a bit...

So the mask is still a work in progress, but I got the eyes colored, and mounted to the mask. I've got some strips of black cloth wrapping around the mask, but it is not final. I just wanted to see how it would look with the robes/hood (which I still need to trim. Again)

Head tilted slightly to the side - I swear, the eyes are on straight.

Alright - I've got all the pieces on order for this now! Bandoleirs were ordered Monday night, and should be here Thursday. Gloves should be here today.

I'm going to be looking into making the ion blaster myself, but it is not a super high priority, since it isn't required.

Just a bit more weathering (on the robes and hood) and some trimming up to be done, and some additional adjustments to the mask wrapping/covering, and I should be ready to apply!

Woo! My bandoleirs arrived today, and they are pretty awesome.

I just need to finish weathering everything, and get a bit more coverage on my mask, and I think I'll be ready to apply!

Here are some pictures of the bandoleirs just tossed onto my dress form in hopes the leather works out some of the folds fom shipping.

Not sure what I should do with the 5 pocket one. The one with the many little pockets fits perfectly, and looks fine - the one with the functional pockets, however, seems a lot shorter than expected. I'm only 5'3", but it sits pretty solidly above my hip when layered on.

You can also try wearing one over the shoulder and one around the waist.

No, Jawas do not wear them around the waist.

I have seen a few posts about lengthening them using old belts - I think I may try doing that with the shorter one.

I like the idea of having them hit lower on the waist to give the illusion of being even shorter than I am. So - I'll do some experimenting. At least I've made belts from complete scratch before (which is a long and stupid story of costuming).
