I found this pic that the the Tenzigo Weems actor Eric MacLennan posted on his Twitter account. It shows him with his shirt bib undone, and you can see the closure mechanism that the costume department used.

Is that a whole ton of snaps that I see? It also shows that the bib opens on the left. Not sure if the snaps go all the way around the bib or if it is sewn to the shirt on one side.

I am pretty sure the photo got mirrored. The closure of the shirt should be on the right side. At least it was in the movie and the visual guide. Another indicator for the mirroring of the photo is the orange looking thing on the belt and the fly of his pants. They should be on the other side. If the photo is not mirrored he would be wearing women's clothing. I do not think that he wears woman's clothing.

It looks like they put snaps on a strip of fabric and then sewed it to the shirt. It is probably faster than sewing a bunch of press-studs to the shirt. I think I have seen something similar on a blue vest of Scarif marine.
