I found this hose...does it seem to be a good size/pattern to y'all? I know it's not screen exact...but it seems relatively close compared to any other hose I can find here in the U.S.

Where did you find it? I hope it will pass and we can use it. This part is very hard to find.

My friend, this may blow your mind, as it did mine.
I've actually had it buried in my truck for a year. I almost poodooed myself when I found it today.
I was pondering making some money off this, but decided that would be a sith thing to do.
It is available at Home Depot. For under $22

Holy poo, that is a better option than the pond tubing I was using.

I think I have the same hose on my mini shop Vac. I researched and they are all made by the same company. Trying to see if I can find replacement stock. We need 1 1/4 inch?

I vote that it's close enough. So there's one. Heh.

I think it looks good...

Where did you find it?? What kind of hose is it??

Where I do have one of the "real" hoses for my TFA Pilot, I have ordered a similar hose to the one you show for practical purposes.

The "real" hose is very stiff, very thick walled and very heavy. It pulls at both the chestbox and where it goes into the chaps because it just does not flex well.

Also, as I understand it, the "real" hose is still only available in the UK and is very expensive.

I don't think anyone from the general public will know the difference.

The only thing about the replacement hose above is that it is shiny...
the "real" hose is dull...
scuffing it up with some sandpaper should take care of the shine....

Check out my other thread: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=77280

I'm going to try and cast a more flexable lighter material of the one from the UK that I recently attained

In anticipation of the shipment of the new lightweight hoses I thought I would ask how everyone else has been attaching the hose to the chest box.

Wood dowel as a connector, glued and reinforced with a wood screw through both the back of the hose and the box.

I did pretty much the same thing...
drilled into the chestbox to accommodate a long wood dowel (long for stability)
- and cemented that in place -
but..first I cemented in a pvc piece (larger diameter than the dowel but the dowel fits in snugly) that goes into the chestbox a shorter distance and sticks out the bottom so that if I choose not to wear the hose (which is a pain), that 1 1/2" nub of pvc that sticks out the bottom just looks like part of the chestbox..kinda like a connector..

Ice cream sticks work well too. cut a slit in the hose and slide the stick through to prevent it from coming out through the hole in the box.

Now who doesn't like Ice Cream? Wink You have to suffer for your costume!
