Hello all. I have begun building a Mace Windu suit from Ep.2. I have finished the inner tunic.

I have also found a suitable stand in fabric for the outter tunic.

On the left is the real fabric.

Stay tuned for more.

Got some work done on my belt. Also a test run on my tunic to make sure the pattern fits. A few more tweaks like extending the skirt area and lengthening the sleeves.

And a close pic of my belt.

Hopefully I can get the fabric for the outter tunic soon. And finish off my belt.

re: tunic pattern

I'm wondering if your tunic pattern is long enough. (?)
Mace has a VERY long tunic, it extends all the way down to his knees.

also , the sleeves seem a bit short on your pattern.

be sure to cut your tunic body and sleeves extra long -- it's always easy to hem them shorter to get the right look..
..but not so easy to "add" length after-the-fact. Wink

cheers!

Yup, extending the skirt and lengthening the sleeves are the few "tweaks " I was referring to. Both of those pattern pieces have been fixed. Just trying to save up for the fabric now. But thank you.

Got these babies in today. Just about perfect.

Pretty close to the real ones. Has anyone seen the ones from Galaxy's Edge?

The kind you got should definitely work. From what I've seen on the galaxy's edge ones, they aren't ideal, but would likely pass as long as they look proportional on your belt.

I was worried about that. The hook on them looks a bit "off" to me. I think I'll just stick with the ones I have. They fit my belt perfectly.

Spent my day off working on one of the pouches for my belt out of leather. Not bad for a beginner.

Now to make a smaller one and a breather pouch.

Flickr does not give direct links to a JPG file which are required by this forum. You can use Imgur instead, which will give direct links that work here.

Those pouches are fantastic! Did you find a tutorial or did you just make them up on your own?

Also, for what it’s worth, the onscreen belts are two piece. The wide inner belt has no closures and overlaps in the back, and the narrow outer belt goes around it and clips in the front—the buckle is functional. The studs keep the two belts aligned.

Thank you very much! This was an experiment. I first started off using the patterns for a tutorial here titled "Leather Breather pouch". I heavily modified the pattern. My pouch was made with no sewing involved so as far as far as the build part I came up with it on my own. And that is interesting about the on screen belts. My buckle is not functional, so I couldn't do my belt that way.
