George Mason University is offering an open invite to costumed fan groups to attend their event on February 15, 2020. This is approved by Lucasfilm.
Saturday, Feb 15, 2020 (this is a change from the previous month due to GMU's league not giving them a weekend March game).
EagleBank Arena – Fairfax, VA on the campus of George Mason University.
4550 Patriot Circle
Parking is free around the arena. If anyone would like to drop their items closer they can use the loading dock which is located at the southeast side of the area. The best parking is Lot A. They can enter in the loading dock entrance but I will need a list of members attending.
Game Time 3:30 pm, doors open at 2:30 pm
The game will be televised on NBC Sports Net.
Details about the event --
Our Star Wars Day is during an NCAA Division I men’s basketball game, George Mason vs George Washington. We would like to use members pre-game in the concourse and for in-game promotions. We are still planning other elements but open to ideas on best practices.
Changing space details
We will have one full, secure dressing room for members to use.
Please note that if you or your club members require a handler or handlers at the event, you must provide them yourself and not rely on handlers from other clubs to fulfill this responsibility. _________________ Deb Benigni

Overall great troop, looking forward to this one becoming a recurring year to year troop!
Our POC Andrew (Andy) Ruge was an absolute pleasure to work with. He had a vision that he clearly articulated, provided a detailed agenda, had a wonderful room set up for us (including an en-suite bathroom, drinks, and tickets for the 2nd half).
Our troop consisted of 3 main parts: a welcome in the concourse prior to the tip off, being on the floor for the National Anthem, and then a walk through during the halftime show. We were set up on the court level a few doors down from the players/training/refs and had access to an elevator getting us up to the main concourse. We took pictures for approximately 1hr this was a mix of roaming and setting up a few temporary spots. Then returned to the green room for a quick break followed by an on court appearance during the National Anthem. After that we returned to the green room for about 15min before prepping to return for the half time show. For the halftime we split into two groups and entered from opposite sides of the arena, Kylo & Rey clashed sabers then the remaining troopers walked the sideline to meet at center court, cross court, then return to the exits. Troop lasted approximately 3hrs.
Post Troop Comments: We had a brand new trooper today, Alan Kravitz who did an amazing job as Count Dooku!!! Additionally his Son & Girlfriend/Wife? were able to assist as a handler which was an incredible help! Moving forward to next year we need a minimum of 2-3 Handlers to be at optimal level, this was a fast moving troop with a large group and multiple movements between locations in additional to the nationally televised logistics on court. I can see this becoming a trooper favorite as it was a higher profile event and a lot of fun!
Closing: Thank you troopers for staying together, taking directions on the televised events, and overall participation especially a shortage of handlers.
