Is this specifically true or is there some other detail that is actually the aim- like no visible edges? I am familiar with French seams and searched high and low for how to apply this for collar a with no luck... In fact, several tutorials stated French seams are difficult for curves such as collars. Maybe I’m just missing something here but wanted to check for clarity’s sake.
Also, is it possible to consider a slightly narrower tabard? Tulle tends to come in 54” width, so if we could have 27” rather than 30” it would enable us to split the width on a bolt and buy half the fabric (assuming that like for Jakku Rey it’s acceltable to have a seam). |
I agree with the above in that the collar is not attached with a French seam. As the shirt is lined in what appears to be the same knit fabric, the collar should be sewn between these two layers so that it is sandwiched. |

I don't know if this has been noted before, but I think a detail could be added on the hood description, something like "Hood should be large enough so that when the hood is up the sides of the hood drape to extend to or cover half of the shoulder", just like written in Jedi robe standards, as shown in this picture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gn77piwc0lvhnw5/Hood.jpg?dl=0

Hi everyone!
The Standard should be written with the new Template. Now I will see the update, taking into account the first message of the thread.

I'm thinking it may be in reference to the top stitched line right above the shirt and collar? That's what I took it as when I read it, anyway. lol
Yeah, the shirt is lined with itself and then the collar and hood sandwiched between the two. _________________ Community Member of the Year 2019

I was wondering about adding something about the bag in optional? I think it’s a pretty evident part of her costume, something like
Crossbody satchel:
The satchel is a natural/cream canvas
Satchel features a pocket made from netting as wide as the bag
Satchel has a matching weathered shoulder strap.
It should be worn crossbody.
First time trying to draft a standard, so sorry for mistakes! _________________ Do. Or do not. There's no try.

I was wondering about the bag as well since it's in more scenes than her poncho. Haha
The bag is similar to her Resistance bag but has so many differences.
It appears to be a square shape bag which is a different shape than her rectangular Resistance bag.
Rey takes off the bag by pulling on the adjuster strap at the bottom of the bag which separates the bag from main body strap. This could be a clip, magnet, or hidden mechanism. Not sure if that needs to be required.
The back has a curved recessed seam towards the top. ...
I'm working on a tutorial for the Scavenger Sisters FB group and want to make sure I'm giving them correct information. I'll be happy to post it here for review to help with the costume write up. |

The bag, dagger, a few other props absolutely should be added! Wendy, do you have a recommendation for the bag wording? Since you’ve made a bunch. |

An ivory canvas crossbody satchel with a matching weathered shoulder strap. Strap is connected by a D-ring at the top and an adjuster at the bottom side.
Netting and canvas pocket on the lower front of the bag. Curved recessed seam on the back of the bag, and side flaps are curved.
I can go into more detail if you like.

Since I've been working on these items (and quarantine it's pretty boring ) I made a first draft;
Rey's yellow saber:
-saber hilt is metallic black;
-hilt is weathered.
-middle part of saber is wrapped with weathered white gauze and brown leather;
-saber hilt is made of some pieces of Rey's quarterstaff.
-If bladed, it must be yellow (I think it's more golden than yellow though)
Pasaana Necklace
-necklace is made of orange wood beads (I think beads' diameter is app. 12mm - 0.47 inches-)
-necklace features five little dolls that resemble the Aki-Akis, Pasaana villagers.
-when worn necklace must reach at least the breast.
Sith dagger
- Ochi's blade is metallic grey/weathered silver;
- dagger features engraved Sith words;
- dagger handle is wrapped with (auburn brown?) leather.
I don't know how to put in words blade's shape
There are the refs I've been working on: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nc2akrtr992eggi/AAD-rgobYs0Cf0YMfLIZcHpGa?dl=0 _________________ Do. Or do not. There's no try.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I think Rey's bag matches the color and texture of her arm wraps. The lining is what we see fraying. I don't think it is canvas, but it's more cost effective.

I absolutely agree with you on the color and I understand your reasons for the material... maybe we could put different options for the bag material? Canvas and thin leather? _________________ Do. Or do not. There's no try.
