Oh no! Maybe carefully unpicking and redoing it will work? One little piece at a time.

I carefully ripped open the embroidery....this hurt so much...

Removed the embroidery of the two circles of the first two flowers

After that I started redoing the embroidery in the correct colour

It looks like it is saved

Awesome! So glad you were able to fix it. I has to tear out and redo my first flower twice and was so scared about the fabric too.

I would like the feedback from a judge before I do something rash....

When picking the embroidery thread for my costume I matched the red thread with my fabric. I found a lovely colour which I really liked in combination with my fabric:

This is DMC 347 Dark Salmon. It has a slight hint of pink, which it visible in certain light.

But half way into my first panel I really start to doubt my choice. I am worried it is too pink and that I will not get it approved.

So in an impulse I bought a few other colours to check with my fabric.
I found two other very beautiful colours:

Left: DMC 347 Dark Salmon (the one I am currently using)
Middle: DMC 355 Dark Terra Cotta
Right: DMC 3777 Very Dark Terra Cotta

In the shade (natural light)

Flash:

Direct sunlight:

The more I look at these colours the more I am convinced I should redo all my red in DMC 355 Dark Terra Cotta. Which will be a lot of work. I already did the petals of the large bottom flowers and one section of scales.

So far no one has commented on my photos and colours that it looks off. So I am probably overreacting.

This is how the embroidery looks now with DMC 347

I'm not a judge, but in all your different light settings I prefer either terra cotta colour with your fabric. As you say the other has a hint of pink.
That's my preference. Whether or not the current colour is off enough to be an issue I can't say.

Thank you for your feedback. I wish I could contact a judge directly to ask for their feedback, but i have no clue who the judges are. I already looked for that information but cannot seem to find it. I have no idea if their are reading this topic anyway Neutral

This morning I decided to embroider two scales to see how the Dark terra Cotta colour looks. I made photos with and without flash.

front:

Seeing the colour done in actual embroidery, I think my first option is pretty good as it is. It matches my fabric very well and overall, looking at in relation to my other embroidery and fabric, it does not look off at all.

However, I would really appreciate if a judge could give me some feedback and guidance.

Hi Puck! Nice to see you are still active in the Rebel Legion Very Happy
I have not done event in Benelux since way to long, hope to be able to change that soon to meet you and the other old members of the former benelux base! Smile

First of all, wow, that's a great costume! I am always amazed at the people going for this costume given the cape design with all the embroidery!

As you mentioned you would like to contact judges, in this topic you will find a list of judges: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=886564

Best of luck!
Thibaut

Thank you Thibaut!

It is great to hear from you again. It's been too long and I would love to troop with you again.

Thank you for directing towards the judges. I sent one of them a private message and now I hope for a quick response.

I had hoped to finish my first panel by the end of April, but that was a bit ambitious. I am still very happy with my progress and hoping that in two weeks the first panel will be done
