UPDATED: 10/16/09
The Hiller aviation museum has invited costume volunteers to come out once again and lend atmosphere to their annual Halloween events. (I think that might be trooper dad featured on the web page? http://www.hiller.org/halloween.shtml )
WHAT: Halloween Haunted Hangar
WHEN: October 30th 5pm-8pm & October 31st 12pm-3pm (if anyone has to arrive late due to work, they are flexible and you are welcome to suit up into costume and join the rest of us when you get there).
WHERE: San Carlos Hiller Aviation Museum
601 Skyway Road
San Carlos, CA 94070
Directions WEB SITE:http://www.hiller.org/halloween.shtml COSTUMES REQUESTED: All Star Wars costumes (imperial or rebel. Formal and Informal) are welcome. In fact, if you have a non-Star Wars costume you'd like to wear (maybe you are a trekkie or a potter head?) other costumes types are just as welcome so long as they are family friendly and of a professional quality (i.e. not an inexpensive rubies type of packaged costume). Perhaps just post a photo of your costume so we can review it.
Please note: North gave me the OK to extend an invite to Fan Force members with suitable costumes. You will see costumers from many groups, such as Star Trek, Klingons - so this is a multi-group event.
PARKING: Parking is free. Please park in the back parking lot at the back side of the museum. Then enter the facility at the back of the museum.
CHANGING ROOM/STORAGE ROOM: We would enter the back of the museum and use their conference room as a changing & storage room. If you need more privacy, we can use the restrooms too.
FOOD If we have a good number of volunteers, they may order pizza for us! Stay tuned, as we are still working out those details.
Info: Join our flying witch for a delightful day of flight and fright as the Hiller Aviation Museum hosts the Halloween Haunted Hangar. Each day the witch arrives by helicopter and drops a pumpkin to get things off to a smashing start, and then the festivities continue inside! Explore the Museum’s Gallery if you dare to hunt for hidden haunts. Build a creepy craft, join the games at our Aerial Carnival, or take off on a moonlight mission in the Flight Sim Zone in a festive celebration of Halloween Flight. Candy, prizes and spooky surprises make our Helicopter Haunt and extra-special occasion. Come in costume and add to the fun! _________________ Base Webmaster
As of right now, I'm tentative for Friday night. I spoke with Dale today and he thought he might be able to make it for Friday. So if there are a few of us, I could see doing this event _________________ Base Webmaster
I hope to hear back from the museum soon. I asked if arrival times could be flexible. If I don't get an e-mail back in a day or two I'll try calling him. _________________ Base Webmaster
Cool, I'm trying to get a hold of the contact for the museum. I'll try calling him again today. It sounds like we might have a pretty good crowd! _________________ Base Webmaster
I heard back from the Museum today and will update the first post shortly with additional information.
They might be able to get us Pizza... so stay tuned regarding food
I'd like to know what costumes you all are volunteering with so I can let North know who to expect costume wise
He did say it is not limited to Star Wars costumes. So if you have another type of Halloween costume you feel the kids would recognize and would be suitable for a family event, let me know! You don't have to be restricted to RL costumes only for this one.
I'll also be sending out an invitation for Fan Force members.
I still have to find out how many handlers/photographers they would be OK tagging along with us out of costume. _________________ Base Webmaster
grr, i get off at 4:30 that day, so it might take a while to get from oakland to the aviation museum
Tom - North is fine if you need to arrive a little late. They are flexible and appreciate having any of us there when we can get there. I explained you'd need some time to get there once you get off of work and some other members may have the same problem. _________________ Base Webmaster

Hey Kathy!
Even though I mentioned it to you in person at the SW Concert, officially count me in as yes...another X-WING Pilot. _________________ "Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do." - Bruce Lee
